whats an MES connector?

with these earlier srs versions like your '95,u have to clear the fault to turn the srs light off & that involves testing certain voltages on the srs unit to diagnose the fault. It doesnt flash codes at u like the later model srs,if thats what ur thinking.

MES = Memory Erase Signal

apparently theres a way to get it off like this..

just having troubles locating the thing in the 95 civic

like i said,being a '95 model,u prob have the older style system.

these systems did not store or indicate fault codes,so there is no memory to erase,they just simply indicated the presence of a fault & u have to fix the fault for the srs light to turn off.

your prob better off getting this type of system checked by a pro if u dont have good tech knowledge of the system & want it fixed so it works again.

in your passenger side kick panes d00de, pull the carpet out and have a poke under there somewhere, may be even tucked in behind the glovebox

there are 2 of them, use the 2 wire one, not the 3 wire one

please note: this information is only to tell you where it is, i do not guarantee that you will succeed if you proceed, nor will i be held liable for any damage you may cause for your car

hope it helps

thats the SCS connector,will initiate the codes on newer srs systems,hes looking for the code erase connector or MES as they apparently call it,usually located close to the fuse box.
