Hey guys.. would this lip fit a 94-95 Accord? This lip is made for 96-97.

http://images.channeladvisor.com/Sell/SSProfiles/23000166/Images/3/2-PU-014.JPG

Nah it won't fit, the 96-97 will be a bit shorter than 94-95. Why don't you get that fits 94-95, like this one

I'll post some pics as soon as I get her washed!

The interior is immaculate, mechanically great with only 141,000km when I bought her, although the exterior has a few dings here and there. I don't mind though...it's the perfect platform car for mods!

Having already played around with a CD5...and messed around with heaps of other cars...I'm pretty sure I know what I want to do with this one, and I'm gonna go all out! Either the best or not at all.

My priority mods in order of preference will be:

* New suspension with front/rear sway bars
* 18/19" dished rims! I had 17" dishes on the CD5 and they looked so puny...
* Cold air intake. I had a short ram intake on the CD5 and although it sounded nice, I think there was a fair bit of heat soak occurring...sucked in summer.
* Stainless steel headers (If I dedide the car will stay N/A)
* Full stainless steel exhaust from the block back. I'm tempted to just chuck on a muffler in the mean time but I prefer to get it done properly.

Then there are the little details...

* Clear side markers
* Clear/smoked bumper lights
* New front + rear lights if I can find anything non-ricer and maybe some HIDs
* CD5 or aftermarket grille
* PU front lip (learnt my lesson with fibreglass body kits. Never again.)
* SiR side skirts if I can source them
* Rear lip if I can find it

I plan to shave all the badges off (Except the H emblem...damn holes) and either paint or remove the door guards.

wrong! cd5 or cd6 isnt related to the year the car was made.

simply, cd6 is a SiR accord with H22A (dohc). similar engine you found in some preludes and gen 6 jdm accord euro-R CL1.
cd5 is regular accord with F22A engine. there was no aus delivered cd6 accord. new zealand did have tho.

Uh, Wrong.

CD5 = pre facelift.
CD6 = post facelift.

Minor cosmetic differences, including front bar, grille, rear tail lights and f/r lips.
Major difference being switch from ODB-I in CD5 to ODB-II for CD6.

SiR = trim spec, has H22A.
Vti/Vti-S = trim spec, has F22B1
EXi = trim spec, has F22A

Year is a factor. As far as I can tell, the crossover point is about mid to late 1995.

I'm going on the experience of seeing the VIN codes on cars in person. I'm wondering if you've seen a JDM SiR car in person, and if you have whether you've read the VIN code. It doesn't say CD6...

On that note, have you read the VIN codes of cars other than your own?

And as for your side note, sad as it is, you're still the kid I'm afraid.

If it's alright by your lol-ness I'll stand by my views until proven otherwise.

up to you. believe it all the way you want to.
if i sounded too harsh before, then apology. also, there is no point wasting so much energy and getting someone to believe thing that they refuse to.

and, nothing to brag about, but when i was in malaysia, a close mate of mine used to have a sir/cd6 accord with crinkle blue valve cover h22a motor and one mate even had the gen 6 jdm accord - both cf4 and euro-R CL1. we used to have an accord gathering every so often. so yes, i've seen one and i've driven one.

the main argument is not about the vin/chassis code. but the point i want to stress is the sir/cd6 is another gen-5 accord variant, with cd5 as another variant, and so is cd3, and so is cd4 - as opposed to what you believe cd6 as the continuation of cd5 (and year as the factor). same goes to wagon. the ce1 is the regular (one variant of) gen-5 accord wagon, and cf2 is the sir equivalent (another variant). not continuation (facelift) of one model to another.

there exists both 1994 and 1995 sir/cd6 accords.

enough said.

again, believe what you want to believe. no hard feelings.

I'm not doing this to prove anyone wrong, I just want to clarify things for those who are confused. Here are some pictures from my car:

Oh sweet! Nice grill! I was choosing between that one and the pre-facelift grill. I'll definitely be going for the one you have :D did you paint it? and did you buy it off eBay?

Btw man, I notice you are still using the number plate holder...I'd recommend removing that and drilling a couple of small holes into the bumper and screwing the plates in. I did it a couple of days ago, makes a big difference

Nepolian, thanks for that chart. I didn't know they had 98 CD5's though! I thought production ended in 97.

How I'd love a CD8...couple SiR...mmm...

well i remove it already but theres like a gap on the middle which is covered by the number plate plastic thingo..i end up putting it back again lol.. but i was planning to move my number plate and screw it to the oem lip.. wat do you reckon?

its like evo style lol..

10-09-2009, 09:24 PM

Remove the plastic plate holder. Then move the number plate up about an inch and use some stainless self tappers and screw it into the bumper itself.

This will streamline the front end. But the catch is the plate will sit on an angle. So you need to get some 8mm hose and cut 2 bits on an angle to sit between the plate and bumper......if you get me?

aaron182- I like it mate. My bro's gf has the same colour and wheels. It has a good drop man, the thing i'd change urgently is those Orange indicators on your front bumper... maybe some clear ones, black housed (to match wheels)....just my opinion.

On another note, I was looking at my cd5 after watching a day of discovery channel turbo and thought, Why the **** did Honda make such a nice car, with great curves, made the front end look like a 200sx, nice and sleek sides (4 door- still looks great IMO) and then the rear end SO SO ugly.

Has any1 else thought that the car ends really fast it sort of like a waterfall at the bootlid, and the rear isn't curved nicely and the rear bumper sticks out massively.

Just my opinion...

Sweet, what the hell, you're in Perth??? do you still have the accord?

Used to live in Perth. Now in Syd.

Car used to run 100HP shot of NOS and competed in PAS driving events in 1999 when they ran the show at Freo Passenger Terminal.

Reverted the car back to stock and sold it back in 2000 when I bought the Calibra Turbo. Had a WRX and R33 Skyline after that and now a family man and own a 06 Accord VTi bought brand new back then.

I think the Lovell springs are still at my old man's place back in Perth. Sold the 18" rims to a mate with a Prelude back then.

Nam, the total height (Mugen front spoiler and front bar combined) is the same as the height of your bar with the prefacelift lip put underneath the bar. I'm a total fan of the Mugen front spoiler and I think I will get another CD5 in near future. I have the exact front spoiler shown here - 100% same!

Yep - it'll be 30mm rear and 45mm front, relative to "new". I don't know how much its sagged, if at all. So fingers crossed.

Coupes are rare in other countries but here in the US is very common...You'll see them almost every where you go but ofcourse there most likely be stock...Its pretty rare to see fix up Accords though...

I didn't believe it when the salesman told me it would transform the handling of the car - It's the first time I've done a major mod to a car. Its now in a totally different league - it actually feels like the car handles way beyond the capability of the clutch and brakes. Love it.

Troy
02-02-2011, 10:34 PM
Looks a lot better than standard "4WD" spec! Good to hear the handling is improved, that's the main reason, safety.

I think that looks really good. Definitely looks better than standard, but nothing like the slammed look which just seems to attract unwanted attention. Nice!

Holy Frog
03-02-2011, 01:32 AM
Yeah thanks, Troy. initially, I was slightly concerned about the leaning forward look, but I think I'll get a few more mm's with a full tank (empty atm). I cant believe how high it was before ! lol
I can't get over the handling - every 5 minutes I have deep cravings to go for another drive.

Anyone interested in a used F22B1 turbo kit? complete with manifold, wastegate, td04 turbo, custom charge pipes, intercooler sprayed black, hks ssqv ;) downpipe, greddy e-manage...

its complete...all you need to do to your car is upgrade the clutch, get bigger exhausts 2.5" minimum...I took this off my CD5 shortly after giving the car to my gf because its too much power for her. Previous dyno was 160kw conservative tune...

this isn't a for sale ad just an EOI. PM me!

Hi guys, I'm new on the forum, bought my Accord a month ago, was in relatively good shape, only 140 000km on the engine.

Basically it's an 1995 Accord Ex-R , 4 door car (manual transmission of course)
Got a lot of job to do on it, last week when the first snow fell I collided with the sidewalk and it scraped my bumper/lip and my steering is all messed up, but still, she's running. Ordered a new bumper/stock lip and hood.
Wish I ordered a type-r lip..

Nothing has been changed , completely stock, except for the exhaust/Front grille.
Now, pictures:
http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=971&u=14795005

(wtf with the cards LOL)
http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=969&u=14795005

Rivets and rust ( wtf rivets?)
http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=973&u=14795005

That night, I talked with a bunch of guys who had Accord themselves, they had nice rides, too bad I didn't take pictures.. ( sorry for the huge dimensions)
http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/310211_2597885277175_1556048647_32657203_402605374 _n.jpg
Now, After Accident report:

Right wheel is far backed up compared to left:
http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=989&u=14795005
Left Wheel:
http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=990&u=14795005
Bumper
http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=991&u=14795005
And the hood
http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=992&u=14795005

Pretty much it, I'll post pictures of it when it'll come out of the garage!

Been meaning to ask you what seats and rails did you use? And how did you go with like engineering and stuff for rego?

seat rails were genuine recaro rails made for the cd/ce models and the engineering for the h22a is easy, coz u just need to say u changed motors... since the f22 and the h22 are both 2.2l motors so its not like you are putting a bigger motor in =P

yeah i meant engineering for the seat rails and seats. I wasn't aware they made genuine rails because I can't seem to find any or any information on them!

I'd like to upgrade the seat in my car in the very least, something very supportive. If I was going to put a H22 engine in I'd find a different body since I crashed mine. It'd be easy just to swap the seat over.

Thanks.

dont need to register them, as they were reclineable and recaros are adr approved. bride seats on the other hand wont clear rwc and all =)

RP25P - it is a blackcurrent. It was a stock colour that came out with this model Accord. When I first got the car I was told by the boys on OzAccord that it's a pretty rare colour. : o
It's an odd colour, at night it look black, in daylight it look purple, and sometimes it has orange in it. :/ Dunno wtf Honda was thinking, but I like it!
