HI All ,
I have a 2001 Honda Accord Automatic. my issue is when its changing gears it makes a small jerk. ex, when its changing from 1 to 2nd, it is not very smooth. it's only done 70000 Kms?
Any suggestions?

These accords have problematic gearboxes.

I would suggest doing a gearbox fluid change with GENUINE Honda ATF - this stuff works wonders on Honda auto boxes.

my accord has done 110,000 and its had genuine ATF all its life. nomajor problems, still smooth. Occasionally cannot decide which gear to use, in that case, foot off accel, let it sort its stuff and then its good to go again.

Thanks heaps SiReal. Yes i thought of this too. i bought Genuine Honda ATF and going to drain the existing one first and then replace with the Genuine Honda ATF. I purchased the car 2nd hand from some one only 1 month back. so not sure if that person has used Genuine Honda ATF. Hope for the best as it will cost heaps to get the Gear Box done.
Thanks

No problem, note that it will take around 2 to 3 ATF flushes to get it all back to Genuine (this is what my honda mechanic tells me).

I did try castrol dextron 3 once and it was a bitch to drive. But when the Genuine stuff went back it for the 1st flush, it became smooth as again.

To be honest nadhiesh, I dont know how much to put in, my mechanic takes care of that. Have you checked the maintenance manual? It should say. If not, look at the v6p.net forums and do a search.
