Hi Guys,

Have a problem with my 4th Gen lude clutch. Was driving last week and clutch pedal changed from engaging when it was about 80% off the floor, then moved to only coming 10% off of the floor before clutch would engage.

After making it home and then starting the car the next day, when i push the pedal in, it hits the floor and doesn't come back. When started in gear, the car shakes and tries to take off however I have no control.

Wouldn't think this is actual clutch problem....tried checking to see if clutch cable moved when i pushed the clutch in and out and couldn't see anything move in the engine bay, however thought it might be more hydraulics but not sure how to check.

Can anyone help?

Cheers.

hey my mate had the same problem in his 'rolla years ago, and it turned out that there was NO MORE CLUTCH FLUID it would be best to start there, after we got the fluid in the car we sat there and pumped the clutch for a while until it stood back up.

Hope this helps man, coz from what you said seems like a fluid problem to me

master cylinder will need to be replaced. should cost about $100 to fix.

thanks. bled the clutch fluid and topped it up. gave some feel back to the pedal but didn't completely fix it.

starKz you shouldn't have to 'pump' the clutch pedal like you do with the brakes, I just open the nipple and let the fluid drain until all air is gone and let it gravity feed.

now my issue is that when i release the clutch, a 'whining' sound from engine bay is heard and after 2 minutes of driving the engine light came on.

yep it will be the master clutch cylinder and or the slave clutch cylinder. check the ground where u park and maybe the inside firewall of ur car for leaks.
