hey all....all my issues are fixed with losing water, it was just a few cracked heater hoses....i have changed over t/b , cleaned the fitv and ivac, changed pvc valve and piping, changed oxy sensor, fuel filter, thermostat and main fuel relay. but the car seems to rev at 2000 rpm when cold, and goes up and down to....when i have driven it for a about 10-15ks it goes back to revving normally...wat else can be up with this

Seems normal to me. The automatic choke kicks in when engine is cold to warm it up by idling at higher rpms. Mine goes from 1500- 1200 - 1000 - 500 So yeh should be okay. According to my owners manual it can range to 2000 too so I dont think its that much of an issue?

Hi -- The problem you talk about is a sensor issue (i.e. if it is around 2000rpm and goes up and down a couple hundred rpm.

I read about it once before, try www.honda-tech.com, and do a search for poor idle, wavering idle etc ..

It is likely a dirty sensor .. just can't remember which one!

he said he as already cleaned the iacv. and that sensor is a common problem for hondas.

when a car is cold, it will rev a bit higher, and then once warm, go to normal idle. mine does start off reving at 2000rpm and then goes down to around 1.

thanks for the replies guys but i noticed today i takes a while to warm up and even if i drive for like 10 mins and turn off car to go to shops for 5 or 10...it starts up the same, i mean flucuating in revs

could it be bad electrical current?

could it be bad electrical current?

thats actually i good idea.
this will cause the idle to go up and down.
if so, id be getting an auto electrician to look at it.

Hey mate mine did the same thing. it idled high when it was cold then started fluctuating as it got warmer. Once it was as running temp it idoled normally. It ended up being a faulty IACV control unit which had a broken housing on a sensor, which was causing a big vacuum leak. I left mine for a bit like this untill it wouldnt stop fluctating. So i ended up needing a new IACV. Hope this helps.
