Hi, can anyone here recommend good places to get your gear installed in Brisbane? I'm noob with car audio and just want to get my amp installed. I was quoted $300 for it which costs more than my amp. Is this normal?

That depends if you have a factory head unit. Typical installation into a vehicle with an aftermarket head unit is around $85. That is just for the labour, the wiring and the parts would also increase the cost.

search thru the depths of the internet for information and you should be able to do it yourself...its not hard...and u will learn all about ur car by taking it apart and putting it back together...and ull feel heaps better about it when its done cos u did it urself

Personally its a DIY jobby...have a look on the net for info..but yeah its not as complicated as it seems...its only 4 cables..2 making a circuit for amp power (ground & power)..one to tell the amp to turn on (remote) and your Rca cables to send sound signal to amp...

try find a wiring schematic that should make it clear if you want to DIY
