Hi guys,

this is my first tread on OZHONDA, glad to see you guys here.

just wanna ask few questions about gain the power, my car is runing 151KW ATW ATM, wanna know how many KW i can gain if i change the CAM, VALVE, SPRING, becoz that is my next step to go, i am not really sure what is the best way to do, and which brand is good.

here is some spec about the power:

stock air box with KN filter
TODA 4-2-1 header,
TODA DUAL exthaust system
INVIDIA test pipe
OKADA PLASMA DIRECT
MOTEC M800

plz give me some ideal to make bigger power.
thx a lot

Since you've already got the aftermarket ECU, and you're willing to open her up, I'd be inclined to go Toda internals, and extend the rev range to about 9500rpm, so long as you have the valve springs and retainers in it to do so.

My 2c.

so you think TOD is the best not the spoon?

Well at the moment, theres a cheap set of BNIB toda cams, gears, springs, retainers, and valves for sale in Sydney, along with a set of TWM ITB's and manifold... from the same guy.

Was this on a happy dyno? seems like alot of power to be making at the wheels with just those mods?

yeh that seems like abit for those mods... Anyone got any ideas on what the power gains might be with toda ITB's? And what needs to be purchased for the whole thing to work?

ITB's wont net you top end power so there wont be much gains in terms of dyno numbers to brag about. It will increase mid range, which will bring the car to life, and make it much more enjoyable to drive. As far as i know you will need an ECU like AEM EMS to get the whole thing working.

ah might aswell go FI, spend abit more for alot more power.

you will need fuel reg, ecu, 550cc injectors, good tuner, an exhaust shop to weld on adaptors for all your lines and an exhaust shop to make a canister so the fuel can sit in if its not burning petrol to stop it from smelling ;) and you only get mid range but you will have a much unique car i havent seen it on any other s2000 driven around if your interested PM me ill give you more details about it.

LOL, I was there a couple of weeks ago and got 152.1kw, which reminds me i gotta go down and pick up my print out, printer ran out of ink. Yeah definitely not a "happy" or over reading dyno

Thing is ive done a bit of internal work as well as bolt ons, but im only running an Apexi Neo, and the 4.77 final drive wouldn't help with power transfer.

You've got pretty good numbers considering the small amount of work done.

Paul told me not to waste my money on a motec or any stand alone ecu, he said cost vs power wasnt worth it.

Good Stuff

On another note, whats the Motec like drivability wise? Is your s2000 a daily driver?

mine was dynoed at 190kw(well around that area cant remember off the top of my head) at the fly.. well i think it was the fly i cant even remember.. wouldnt that equal to around the 140-150rwkw range? I thought he would be getting a little more then that.. I dont think mine has anything below 140rwkw as i drove a mates s15 and that apparently had around 150kw and only just pulled abit harder than my s2000. Oh and i dont have as many mods as the other F20C either.

F20C where are you in aus?

hi mate, its for track use now, after i put a MOTEC, the car drinks a lot of patrol, full tank around 220-250kms, so bad, ahha. but feels really smooth. just wanna ask a question, where and how much you get the 4.77 final drive? and how much to install it? would like to do that.

cheers

Thats pretty typical of Motec converted cars, it takes ages to get a decent fuel efficent tune on one compared to factory based ecu systems, motec's are built for race cars, race cars dont care for fuel economy or creature comforts such as air con and so on, not saying it cant be done, just takes alot of time, especially with itb's.

Shouldnt be too hard to source a final drive or have it installed either, not sure in mexico though.

Got the final drive straight from KIA for about 700 bucks (about 3 years ago now) had it installed up in Thomastown at Trans,Gears and Diffs for about the same. Including a few odds and ends from honda, cryo treatment, all up it cost about $1800 or so. Im really happy with it, no issues and it really works well with my set up.

I did a write up on S2ki.com with part numbers and all. http://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=427696&st=0&#entry8747563 Here's the link if your interested.

dude are you seriously comparing the pull from a turbo to the pull from an na? apples and oranges mate, a butt dyno + bias is a very poor indicator of engine power output.

stock s15s will put out about 150rwkw (jap spec)

F20C
24-05-2009, 12:09 AM
jap spec s15 0-100 = 5.6 seconds
Ap1 s2k 0-100 = 5.7-5.8
Audi s3 0-100 = 5.6 seconds

The only difference i found of the 3 was the audi had a smother ride and was AWD. I had 1 run against a friends s15 jap spec R first 3 gears only and he barely even beat me but none the less beat me. I dragged the S3 and was h2h in all 3 runs. My mate has been driving alot longer then i have and isnt a dud driver. All done legally of course :)

none of those cars will run that figure. i believe the 0-100 for an s2k is in the 6-7 second mark. jdm s15 will run it in the 6 mark.

You said you were looking at some mods did you ever think of working your throttle body? Venturi Big Throttle Body; I dont know exactly what the power output will be out of it have a look at it maybe some guys on here might be able to share on it. Oh and if anyone knows about brembo breaks, do the make ventilated discs for AP1's? I cant find it on their website -.- I've been looking at brembo's or SPOON break calipers + discs if needed.
