thats true i want to know too,
theres apparently another spring out on the market in addition to the progress springs; HR Springs which have a 1.3inch drop at front and 1.2inch drop at back compared to the eibach 1" to 1".

Might get these, but dont know how good they are.

Sorry for late reply, here's a picture
http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/3295/mycai.jpg (http://img197.imageshack.us/my.php?image=mycai.jpg)

basically an aluminum pipe going all the way down with an apexi filter at the end, the pipe hasn't been polished so it's not shiny, and also you cannot see where they put the adapter area for the MAF sensor because its on the underside of the pipe roughly between the 2nd and the 3rd bend.

Hiya, new to this forum. Should be ordering my 09 Lux Nav Auto before the end of the month for delivery in Oct. (Need to run out company car contract).
Visited Revzone yesterday to discuss, CAI, manifold, cat and exhaust upgrades. Just waiting for firm pricing. They're also working on an ECU tune for the CU2. Not much demand though so they're not rushing.
I'll get the other mods done first up as I'm sure they'll be affordable.

Looking forward to hitting the streets in the Euro.

You can't do the exhaust manifold on the CU2 as the CU2's engine has the manifold cast into the head. And swapping a K24a3's head over is too much work because it doesn't line up properly.

If you want to modify the engine, best bet would be to swap the K24a3 into the CU2 and go from there...

where can we get the K24A3 for the cu2 from? I think the legal said that the new engine has to be newer than the original one...

Well Revzone says it's possible. It's by no means easy nor are they sure of the benefits. I've decided against the headers for this reason.

From what I've heard that is a rule of thumb, and it's usually subjective. If an engineer wouldn't give you a certificate to swap an 08' engine into an 09' chassis I'd be suprised.

But if you could it would be good, the K24a3 would be MUCH quicker with the CU2's gearbox.

Mods to date:

15% tint all round with 65% tint to front screen.

Lowered 35mm (lowered springs only). Have a set of 20's comming from eastern states - will adjust the suspension if need be. Seriously considering the rear lip spoiler and i have been told the Honda Civic IS sedan rear roof top spoiler / visor fits straight onto the CU2... would look awesome i think - just need to track one down!!!...

And i know we all love pics - so here are some average ones i have to date - have just come back home from a business trip so I am still hanging out to take some decent photos! - these do the car no justice!!!.... better pics to come...

Cheers.

Springs used = Kings Springs (models KHFL-107SL & KHRL-108SP)

Very happy with the result and ride quality is only a little bit firmer - still an awesome drive. Lowered approx 35mm from std (std ride height is like a bus! so this is a MUCH better look!!) - looks freakin mean from front on when on the road - low and fat.

Highly recommend it to any CU2 owner. Cheers.

I live in Perth... but no, have no issues with speed bumps etc. Every now and then you need to watch a driveway kerb or similar due to the small under spoilers (you know, those little mud flap type wings under front bumper)... but thats it - nothin major.

*edit*
i just had a google for "rear roof top visor" and i know what you mean now. i think it wouldn't go very with the CU2 because the car is longer than the civic. the civic is shorter so it looks good with a roof visor like the hatchbacks do
i mean i believe the hatch backs use sun visors because they cant have spoilers. so thats why i got the wing type spoiler, makes it so much more aerodynamic than a bare assed CU2. without the spoiler it looks like a camaro gt lol. all u need to do is paint it yellow with black stripes and u have a honda bumblebee

However, oz ones are with the 5spokes chrome in colour and the rest black.. the front bumper i think its the aero front bumper which many tsx owners in the states got it. Hi all spoilers (except the roof top visor and stoopid BMW 'shark fin' - i hate those things) are honda aero kit - optional from factory. Wheels i am unsure about, but i will try to find out.

Looks nice i think - neat yet agressive. Also, the TSX is identical to our EURO - apart from front grille. The side guards are no different to our cars.

Cheers.

its so stupid that ebay seller above sells oem CU2 parts for 25% off RRP...but hes located in america and shipping to aus is about 25% of RRp -_- basically meaning u save nothing and u have to instal it yourself and expose yourself to shipping risks. unless he discounts shipping, i see no hope any time for us CU2 owners in getting cheap parts.

I dont think its illegal if you substitute the 2 strip lights on your bumper for the leds ones....

i just found this website
http://www.nengun.com/mugen/accord-ventilated-visor

seems to be the cheapest around they have the grille too for cheap.

only problem is their shipping is expensive

$100 for the grill and about $60 for the visors :S

Hey cheers for that site mate!

Is that $100 aussie bucks? If so, thats still the cheapest around i think!

Wonder if they do cheaper postage if everything is combined, rear lip, skirts, front lip and grill. Their prices for painted is pretty reasonable too!

Has anyone had experience with getting painted parts shipped? I'm just concerned about the paint getting some major scratches because of it rubbing against the packing materials!

That is for the CU2 as it shows CU2 under Vehicle compatiblity.
The shipping is expensive if that's in AUD or USD.

I got the Mugen visors and grill shipped from Hong Kong for $800.
check out this web site www.supergt.com.hk

yeh the prices are fantastic but the shipping is a bit ridiculous i believe.
Youngster's hk site has the visors for a little more expensive, but after shipping, its cheaper lol

and im pretty sure the prices are in aussie dollars because when i registered they asked for currency denomination.

however it just goes to show the margin of profit there is. So if i got my dad to ship them over when he goes to china he can prob get it cheap and also ship it cheap. the problem lies in where to order it from in china...

when the importers get it, do they buy at some special traders price or do they import at the japanese listed price on the mugen website?

hey guys
got the cu2 about 2 months ago, im currently building up a sound system that i am going to put in it. It is half bought just need more money. It will include 2 sets of 6.5 splits, a set of 6x9's, replacing the 8inch sub in the parcel tray with a better brand, and 3 subs in a custom made bos in the boot. I am also buying chrome 20's in about a month and lowering it a bit. I just need the money lol but who doesnt. So far ive put 35% tints on it and super white LED parkers, look great at night. Ill post up some pics when i have time to take them.

Why replace the 8" sub? You don't need 6x9's either.

What 20's are you going to go for? I been thinking more and more about 20's, but good luck finding a 98 load rated tyre.

don't have time to get a pic yet sorry lol, but it's roughly about a 1 finger gap fron't back, but it almost looks like there isn't any, pretty good height, and that is the standard height on the manual apparently

and yes, i'm still on 18 inch stock wheels, thinking about a new set of 18 or 19 in the near future

ride is awesome, on stock settings, which from what i can remember was something like 6 - 10 clicks back from the hardest, forgot which one exactly, it's just a little more stiffer than stock you only really notice it on big bumps, on small lil road surface bumps, its excellent cause the car doesn't bounce up and down. cornering is nice, higher speed and the car holds excellent and it's not even that stiff :)

It's not a bad thing, it's just that paints are incredibly hard to match between metals and plastics. I think it happens more often on silver cars, as my rear bumper is a lot darker than the rest of the car

mate you wouldn't happen to live around Burwood would u? I think i've seen this car at Burwood westfields a few times and get all jealous :P hahaha it looks even better in real life. Wish i had the extra money to get the modulo kit as well.

:p HAHA, no, I do not live in burwood, I live in the east.

Wow, I think you saw another modulo then. Glad to see more and more euro coming out these days. Modulo is great to me personally, the even more muscular look.

Hope to get the car lower, still hesitating. :)

@mikhaelnen: Thanks mate, no... it wont attract more attention than your sports grille though (especially at night)

@nxn75u: Thanks, Volcano grey? hmmm if you have white + black grille that will be awesome, not sure about VG...

Funny story, yesterday I went to a dealer to claim warranty (the oil leaked and reporting pinging issue) and when they park the car just outside, a guy who looking to buy CU2 ask the salesman "Is MY10 comes with colour coded grille? That looks awesome" :p LOL!!!!

personally acura grille looks weird to me, lots of poepl from the US are trying to source honda grille as they look heaps better (i reckon). Mugen grille looks hawt but i reckon it will only look good with the mugen add on-kit installed. And dedy from top one says it is not 100% bolt on rite? Correct me if im wrong..

Well i was surprised when reading the instructions that the original grill had to be modified.
I thought the Mugen parts were a direct fit but it's not and maybe that's only for CU2's.

Eibach springs are good and i'm happy with it but then i had to find out how much the Tein coilovers costs and i was surprised as the price was really good.

Ride's good, have it on stock settings at the moment as i've mentioned a few pages earlier

It's a bit stiffer than stock suspension, holds better around corners at higher speed, a lot less bouncy on small road bumps, i personally like it better than stock suspension

it took something like 1.5 weeks to deliver :) not much of a wait at all

yeah me neither, mugen wheels are alright in the 19inch XJ wheel or whatever it's called

20 shouldn't be too ricey providing you drop it properly, any bigger gap it'll just look plain stupid, and obviously decent choice of wheel as well.

i think for 20s you'd need something with a bit of dish to look good... but that's just my 2c

kimnkk
04-10-2009, 02:13 AM
Yeah i agree with that. 19" suits the CL9 and the CU2 has pumped wheel arches so i think it needs 20" to get the same look as 19"s on the CL9.

And something with dish, and wide, would look awesome. 9" wide? Hot!

Tien SS Coilovers (http://www.heeltoeauto.com/Tein-Suspension-SS-Damper-kit-for-09-Acura-TSX-CU2-DSB90-KUSS2-pr-64876.html) $1140

Which ones do you guys recommend just for someone who is looking to lower their CU2? No tracking or anything, just a decent ride quality while looking a bit low (1.5" lower).

Not sure if it is much trouble to adjust the damper and if i would need to at all so not sure if its worth the extra AU$400 or so on top of the basic ones.

Yeah i wouldn't actually mind springs if the ride comfort is okay for everyday use too. Do you find it a lot harsher than stock springs?

Where did you get your springs from if you don't mind me asking?

greg6510
04-10-2009, 03:32 AM
I was expecting a harsher ride with the new springs, but honestly, I cannot tell the difference. The ride is still luxurious, and bumps are not felt easily - still very comfortable. I am based in South Africa, so we imported them directly from H&R. I paid an equivalent of USD360 for them, including fitment. No regrets what so ever!

kimnkk

Ahh thats awesome to hear! Might check out the H&R springs more then, 1/4 the price of coilovers and since there will be absolutely no tracking, i dont think it would make a difference for me, except to the wallet haha.

Hey guys remember the nengun site i mentioned a few months back

i just checked their site again. but i noticed that the mugen parts they listed ARE SIGNIFICANTLY CHEAPER. it could be just my imagination but

check for urselves

http://www.nengun.com/mugen/aerodynamics-accord-cu2

AU $ 1,814.41 for 3 piece set of lip spoiler, skirts and rear under spoiler.

i noe shipping is gunna slap you in the face, but it will only be a few hundred dollars ontop. still cheaper than $1,230 for the lip alone at jdmyard. its only AU $ 596.17 for the lip at nengun

i was already saving up for the body kit, but now i dont have to try so hard. the front bumper is AU $ 1,671.85 which replaces the grill as well and u gotta buy the skirts and rear bumper seperately which cost another thousand. but i personally prefer the lip.

good find or what

i bought my kit from nengun and i'm telling you now i'll won't be doing it again.

so the prices move with exchange rate but it kinda halved in price! the exchange rate hasn't doubled so the price has gone down a bit that wasnt related to exchange rate.

could you get in more detail about the problems with shipping? i was seriously considering it. if it was just issues with delay i dont have a problem waiting 1 2 or 3 months lol. if it gets to me in 24hrs it will probably be sitting in my garage for months before i have time to actually install them. if it was over pricing, unless shipping price = item price then its still cheaper than the traders here. they all just buy it from mugen japan and import it here anyway

I emailed Nengun Sep this year for below parts and this is what the shipping cost is.
Way too expensive.

To ship:
71110-XLLXK0S0-PO - Front Under Spoiler will be 68000yen to be picked up from Sydney Airport.

84111-XLL-K0S0-ZZ - Rear Under Spoiler will be 50000yen also picked up from Sydney Airport.

LOL ok fair enough. thanks for letting me know. i understand what you mean now. i thought it was just slow shipping, but if i have to pay customs and go to airport thats bs. the dealer should take care of that. but at least it goes to show how ridiculously overpriced the traders here are.

not sure about cu2. but cl9 and accords you can change the parkers through the wall lining of the front wheels. the number plates there should be clips, fiddle around with it and it should pop out. might have to pop out a few of the lining.

ok realllly noob question, how do i replace parkers lol. I just popped the hood and have no idea how to access the bulbs. same with the number plate lights. CU2

First post for me! I have a 2009 CU2 Luxury, and first thing that i noticed was the huge difference between the xenon low beams (blue/white) and the halogen parkers (yellow) and it really looked horrible. I replaced them with some white LED parkers and they are nearly exactly the same colour as the low beams and look much much better. How to do it -

YOU DEFINATELY DON'T NEED TO REMOVE THE WHEEL WELL LINING FOR CU2!

Step 1) Refer to owners manual, its got diagrams and a step by step process on pg. 406 & 410

Step 2) Open hood. To change the right side parker remove the coolant reserve tank by pulling up on it with moderate force (do so in order to gain access to back of lights)

Step 3) remove the socket from the headlight assembly by turning it anticlockwise.

Step 4) pull the bulb straight out and replace it (make sure its in tightly, i lost a bulb into the engine bay because it wasn't in properly!)

Step 5) re-insert the socket (inc. bulb) back into the headlight assembly and turn it clockwise to lock it in place.

Step 6) test (turn on parkers)

Step 7) Replace coolant tank

Step 8) to change the left side parker, remove the two fasteners holding the upper part of the air intake duct and then pull it out.

repeat steps 3-6

Step 9) replace upper part of intake duct and replace fasteners.

Step 10) close bonnet, done!

It sounds difficult, but seriously it is ridiculously simple, anyone can do it.

If anyone has any questions feel free to ask

I have a "super white" parkers with a tint of blue on them, its not a strong blue though so i think it's ok, same with the number plate lights at the back. The only problem is they're not very strong lights

ughhh thats so gay....i dont suppose theres any other part of the car's lighting that uses wedge type t10's. what about the lighting on the door interior when u open it. tho i already have a bazillion blue neons already so its not like i need luminescene in there lol

so ice blue tint is ok but not blue. if a driver gets distracted by that so easily, they shouldnt be driving in the firstplace. stupid rta

I got mine free from a mechanic mate. Who told me vaguely that he got a couple of sets from a Supercheap, Repco, etc kind of store in Sydney. Sorry i can't be more specific. I know others have bought them online and have had good results.
