Hey all,

Im considering getting an Accord anywhere from "96 to 99".

What I wanted to know is whats the difference between the vti-s and vti-l?

I have also noticed that the "96" is a 2.2 and after that is 2.3.
What is easier to get aftermarket parts for?

Also, the V6 models. Are they vtec?

Any advice is much appreciated as I am cluless about this stuff.

Cheers:thumbsup:
Dave

Most definitely the CD5/6 (94-97) VTI - VTI-S with the 2.2L SOHC VTEC (f22b1)

If your after more, H22a conversion will quench your performance needs ;)

VTI- nice cloth interior light weight car

VTI-S leather + extras that add weight.

the 98-02 VTi-L are SOHC VTEC as well as the V6 models are SOHC VTEC

the CD models (96) are easier to get parts for and to mod, where as the later model isnt.

However IMO the Beige Interior of the CK (98-02) models are much nicer and car is more comfortable then the CD models.

Hope that helps, seems like the CD accord might be your go if your looking to mod extensivly.

What type of mods can be done to the CD 2.2 vtecs without having to go to a H22a conversion?

Not looking for massive hp, just want to do some mods to give it more up and go on the street.

By the way, My XR8 is up for sale if anyone is keen :D

Cheers
Dave

Think of the F22B1 in the VTi's as SOHC vtec S2000 motors ;) they go quite well.

We have already mentioned H22a conversions, some underrate the F22B for the power & economy they deliver.

When doing a H22a conversion, can the standard manual gearbox still be used or will I have to source out a engine gearbox combo?
