Hi all,

I have just acquired one of these vehicles (gifted from family) and am in the process of getting the vehicle registered for the road.

I have been told by the roadworthy inspector in the ACT that the battery is loose and needs to be secured before it will pass the inspection.

As a novice to both the CRV and cars in general, I have no idea what he is talking about as when I inspect the battery, it feels pretty secure to me!

I've attached a few pics, I note there is space around the battery holder so perhaps the battery that is in there is too small? If this is the case, do I need a new battery or can I like wrap it in foil or something to make it bigger?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Haha, nah,no need for the foil :)

It's looks fine to me,he is talking about making the battery secure from any movement and you said that's fine so I don't see any problem.

yeh now i'm not too sure what he means, he failed the roadworthy and on the paper, he has written "need to secure battery". When i have a play with the battery, it feels pretty secure.

this was done by a ACT Transport inspector so they don't have a garage to fix up small faults. I took it to kmart tyre and auto and a auto electrician and neither had any idea what was the problem.

What is stopping you? The battery seems very secure unless there is something can not be see on the picture. Is it loose or wobbling? Leaking? Did they explain hoe exactly wasn't secured?
