dc2r engine rebuild query

so ive found a dc2r, ive been chasing one for some time now. Only thing is it has 180000kms on the clock. Pritty sure it has a full honda service history however im just wondering who on here has rebuilt the engine in their dc2r and around how much did and cost and how many kms were on the engine when the rebuild was needed.

Every car is different,and depending how it has been treated etc will determine if it needs a rebuild or not.

Cost from Honda is around $3500 to rebuilt the engine, depending on parts etc. You might as well go nuts, and throw some Toda B's, valve springs, cam gears, retainers while you are at it.

Can anybode recommend anyone to rebuild dc2r engine in Melbourne?

i spent a while researching this too, mainly dependant on whether you want to stay OEM or change for some aftermarket parts. Wouldn't be spending that much more than OEM prices. The general rebuild with waterpump,fuel filter,belts,gaskets,pistons ect. Should cost less than $2500 inclu labour (decent rebuilder).

rebuild sounds nice, but y not jus do the basic bolt on mods first and take it from there? when it blows then you can also blow your money on it and as stated above go all out!
