thinking about doing engine swap on ed civic, just want opinions as to whether its worth putting money into it or is it cheaper to buy a dc2 or gen 5 vti prelude right off the bat? i got nowhere to work on car so most labour would have to be payed for

Anyways getting a dc2 or lude definately be much less hassle and work and possible cheaper. But doing a swap would be you out there more and cops would like you more =P if you know what i mean.

how would ed civic with b16a conversion run in comparsion to dc2 teg/ h22lude? obvisoulsy dc2 or h22 are better engines but would a d16a compete in a lighter car (ed) ?

b16a in the ed is probably gonna go harder then the h22, dunno about dc2 though

depends what ed.....ED8 (crx) go for it. But any other ED requires quite abit more effort and money to get it up to scratch.
You need a EFI conversion , extra wiring etc. PITA.
I say , forget it. Sell it and buy a cheap gli EG and do the same.

lets put it this way.
my stock ef9 goes neck and neck with a stock dc2r.
so it will be quicker than a stock dc2 vtir or prelude
