i have a few problems i need to solve
car details 99EK1 d16y4 P2K-Q02
1. what is the ecu obd ?
2. can this ecu connect to a unichip ? ( piggy back )
3. if it cant what do i change it to ?
and before anyone says hi baller hondata or any other full ecu upgrade this is to be done on a lowball budget so a full non oem ecu is out of the buget

afaik facelift ek's were obd2b
unichip's are only available to socketed ecu's aren't they? in any case you'd have to change to an obd1 ecu of some sort and have it chipped + conversion harness
save your money i reckon, only gonna make your car less fuel efficient and probably do squat for power

hondata aint highballer dude, motec is highballer.
unichips retail are like $900,s100 retail for obd2 is like about $1500(could prob do about $1200 with used obd1 ecu & conversion harness).
so if u factor in tunability(hence end power result),reliability, drivability, fuel economy, time spent on the dyno tuning effectively......u'll prob find the s100 come out on top.

yes but the thing is i can get a unichip for around $150 then tune for $300 so its a good small budjet
other reson as im look to the future as a b swap is going to happen when the rest of the caar comes together but thats a bigger / longer story
Vinny thanks so it is obd2b thats kewl the unichip in mind cam out of a obd2 dc2

i was told as long as its obd2 its all good but if it was obd1 i was shot in the ass and would have to change sh*t to get it to work and re dc2 you are right its not obd2b

i don't know if this can help you but you could try neptune, andy at AKMOTORWORKS tuned mine and supplied it for me for my B18C and its got tonns of features and a really good price for a fully tuneable ECU and it is packaged in an oem ecu.

convert your EK1 to OBDI and get a harness off Edgeauto, it really makes it easy.
the P2K ecu was released in the OBDIIa era but has different pin outs to the conventional OBDIIa
P2K ecu has no external ROM where you can use an addon chip
all DC2R's are OBDIIa
