Hey all, I've decided to rebuild and turbo instead of B18cR transplant, so just after some help for a turbo setup for my DC2 VTiR.
I'm chasing around 260HPatw i read that 300HPatw is possible on stock internals with the PeakBoost Kit unfortunately the peakboost is around $7600 which is a fair bit out of my budget which is around 5g.

I have looked in to various other kits like AVO and Greddy, DRAG, SSAutochrome (which had prices too good be true lol), Peakboost , Fullrace. AVO seems like a decent product i have read a few topics of ozH members using these kits.
I did a fair bit of research but a lot of the threads were quite old, still good info.

To the Questions:

*My budget is around the 5k mark for the Kit not including labor, Tune, clutch, i want at least decent quality parts.

* Aiming for around 250HP atw, want to push as much as i can from stock internals safely.

* My B18c is getting a standard rebuild so will be fresh and healthy.

* The peakboost Manifold is $1700AUD is it worth the money, i was thinking of getting that and working from there as Ive read that the manifold and turbo are the main factors and should not cut corners in that area.

* Are there any reputable places in Brisbane that have experience in making quality manifolds preferably the ramhorn equal length style.

* would buying eBay intercooler piping be a good idea or is it the same as buying eBay manifolds

*will be a Daily and would like to retain PS/AC

* I know piggybacks aint recommended but i already have a AFCNeo Installed will it be sufficient to achieve my goals?

Sorry for long post, so many questions, any help/links would be appreciated.

I'll answer a couple :)

* My B18c is getting a standard rebuild so will be fresh and healthy.

might aswell make it a built one, adding sleeves to handle more boost

* The peakboost Manifold is $1700AUD is it worth the money, i was thinking of getting that and working from there as Ive read that the manifold and turbo are the main factors and should not cut corners in that area.

turbo's are sorta the complete package and you sort of answered your own question :p

* would buying eBay intercooler piping be a good idea or is it the same as buying eBay manifolds

steer clear from ebay, better off going to local exhaust place and having them make you some custom piping.

*will be a Daily and would like to retain PS/AC

This really depends on how its installed.

* I know piggybacks aint recommended but i already have a AFCNeo Installed will it be sufficient to achieve my goals?

AFCNeo probably not, Try something like Neptune.

Thanks for the quick replies

Miky G - i thought AFI was around the same price as Peakboost once u do currency conversion and delivery charges ill have another look in to it.

Encor2 - I've told my old man's mate that will be doing the rebuild for me that i will be running 8 - 10 psi so he said he will make it strong enough for that, so i should be fine there.
So ill be staying away from ebay then for anything lol
Any ideas on how much a shop would charge for the piping work?

ill have to keep saving up for ecu then, hopefully AFC will hold up until then

MickyG - Just sent a PM to the guys at AFI, there stuff looks of high quallity.

I just got a quote from some guys at spooling performance in the states:

sp log manifold package 600 ( add 300$ for our quick4AC tubular manifold)
t3t3 57 trim turbo 565
tial 38mm gate 210
tial Q bov 240
oil feed/return kit 110
sp type 1 fmic - 250
sp street fmic pipng kit 200
coupler/clamp kit 110
750CC saturated injectors 290$

2575+ International shipping costs ( roughly 230$) USD

So its approx 4KAUD delivered with the tubular manifold which seems like a decent price. Will leave me with some extra cash for ecu.

Has any one tried out there products or dealt with them?

Yea if AFI is around the same price I'll go with them, only because i cant really find much info/reviews on the spoolin products, but it looks of high quality and i like the tubular design.

pm barefootbonzai or 999automotive here in brisbane for neptune ecu/tune prices. 999 can also do you up a custom dump + exhaust.

dont go hondata s100/200 as I DONT THINK there is any support for it here in brisbane. barefoot does s300 but neptune is the way to go, thats what i got and its great..

but i can say that for a proper ecu (hondata, neptune, etc) ur looking at 2000ish installed and tuned, which sounds like alot of money but its what will make or break ur build. so dont go cheap.... in fact you cant go cheap anywhere

read some build threads.
180kw atw is pretty easy with a b18c, that is most boosted cars. 200kws is starting to get to its limit on stock internals. It all depends on the tune after that.

for 5k you should be quite a good setup.

cheers for the reply's, yea seems as though neptune is a good way to go gets a lot of support from the states and there many boosted tegs.

my rebuild is taking longer than expected as 2 of the valves were burnt out so gonna take longer and cost more which fkin sucks, but least every thing will be perfect once completed.

But i'm leaning towards the spooling kit and Neptune so far. i might go with APC just for their experience. the saving and research continues.
