Hey guys i have a new pod filter and was gonna put it on my EK.
so ive had a commodore b4 and when i bought that it had a pod on it and made a mad growl sound under acceleration...

So Question is what are the real advantages and disadvantages of a pod?
Had any experiences?
Will i get power gains fuel economy?
I work in car sales and one of the guys i deal with says the car will "breath" alot better, meaning it will take in more air right?

i know alot of this already but yeah thoughts? Thanks guys ...

youll get small power gains, and a nice sound as you mentioned,

if you've got the money to spend, why not ?

not like your going to lose anything except money - which everything these days costs anyway right!@

for honda, if u just put any filter in, sometime u might lose power.

put in a trusted brand such as K&N, Apexi, J's racing, password jdm..........

put a pod filter on it there are good gains to be had both power and econ ..and re real brands ..sorry to say it but k&n is 1 of the worst do your reseach and you will find out the flow rates of these brands as there have been many compare tests done

i us a 3A racing pod + fat tube that is a sealed type and its ducted to a front airdam pick up

putting a pod on an EK will not give you that air rush/sucking noise that you referred to on your commodore, and will get very slight performance gains from just a pod alone imo.

it can and will give u a mad sucking noise. i can hear mine heaps especially because i have a stock muffler. i got good fuel economy gains from it and a nice gain in throttle response. you will never get huge overall performance gains like most people expect though with a pod on its own

emm, depends on how u consider "good", if ur definition of good is higher flow but sucking more dirt to ur engine, then yes, HKS is good too.

but if ur good is filtering for ur beloved car, k&n is not bad. but HKS and 3A are bad.

while i agree with you that k&n are a decent brand, you cant knock 3A because many independent tests have shown that 3a pods not only outflow but also out filter many leading brands such as k&n.

But can i just install this Short Ram Air Filter on it's own or do I have to also install a CAI system to it too?
Sorry for stealing your post buddy

also cosider the quailty.

at the end of the day, different pod filter can only make slightly different.
k&n or 3A, doesnt matter. it looks better with k&n too

k&n came 1st on the pod filter test, 3A came 2nd; 3A came 1st in flow, k&n came 4th.
