I know this is done to death... just want some confirmation.

Ive got a D16Y4 (Cxi Auto)

Got a N1 spoon exhaust

Already have 4-2-1 extractors..

So im gonna go extractors, into stock cat, into aftermarket resonator (hotdog), then Spoon muffler all in 2 inch piping..

Sound good? no other options right? I believe i should keep the resonator on to shut it up abit but it will still sound good right?

Thanks all..

yeah, sounds good except for the stock cat bit. a high flow cat would be the go, or if you can source a cat from a GTR that would be even better.

I honestly think u shouldn't do any more serious engine mods to ur car.

Your engine aint a performance wise type.

But the parts you got are good.

Just not put to good use.

Great point Chi..... i know the N1 is a waste of money for me... but i thought by having the best exhasut on my car would be good enough.. for me to know i have a good brand and would get some good sounds from it.. but i wont be spending anymore money on performance mods.. just little things like build a heatshield etc... but no more.. thanks for the posts

2.25?

i think it is..

2.25 for 1.6L
2.5" for 1.8L

Not always true Danny........it depends on the whether the engine has VTEC or not. It also depends on the other mods and what the driver wants from the car.

On a cxi i would stick with 2"....possibly 2.25 but that would be pushing it on an otherwise stock car.

Id say for a cxi 2" ... 2.25" or anything higher will loose too much low end, and there isn't any top end anyway :S

btw wat is the difference between custom piping and a *spoon* exhuast.. asuming they are the same size piping including bends?

Nah, i just mean there are no Spoon n1 which is 2 inch piping, the old ver has 2.25 piping and new ver has 2.5 inch piping, also it won't give you much gain at all rather giving you very very very cool vtec sound when vtec is on, so please try to find something else, Jap brand exhaust is not design for non-vtec car so please don't waste money on it

I agree with spoon dc2...the R&D has been done on vtec engine for jap brand exhaust...and you would be spending extra money for zero gain..

any gains from an axleback are minimal anyway so no point in looking for something else if you've already got the N1.
The resonator wont make the exhaust quieter but will rather get rid of any buzzing noise.
You might want to look into a stock DC2 cat if you can find one 2nd hand in good cond.
my $.02
