but remember, if you find one for 20k, there are transfer costs, insurance and possibly rego/RWC

so need to buy the car for substantially less than 20k

You'd be lucky to find one under 25k in good condition let alone 20k

Unless it is drastically cheaper for cars in Perth (and i mean drastic) then you're answer is no.

Anyway I used to be from perth and I believe i have not seen a jdm dc2r b4????? Anyways i can gurantee that this car would stand out there. Cheers

You get what you pay for. If you see a car 5k below market value, you'd wanna check out exactly why.

When honda stopped bringing in Rs and now have type S, it certainly helped with the prices......

i think you just might be able to find one for 20k in melb or sydney.. but it'll have high km's (like 150k km or something)

a car advertised for 22-23 might sell for 20..

There's alot of international students in Sydney, Newcastle, Melb, Perth, Adelaide.
They''ll be heading home around early Dec. Some for good, some for holidays. Quick, go exploit them. However, most of them would have bought DC5s not DC2s. As they would be able to afford it. :D Either way, they'll be desperate in about 2 weeks time. Assuming they are going home for good. But then there are some that will sell the cars straight to their friends who are still staying for a darn cheap price (friend what...) :p

I live in Adelaide and got my dc2r from Melb (they are VERY rare in Adelaide).. it was a pain in the ass, but in the end it was worth it!

could you tell me how pain it was. since i am also thinking about how to buy a car interstate. something like, the buyer must go to the seller's place (from Adelaide to Melb for example) to change the owner' s name of the car, and send it or drive it back to your state?

can u share us your experience?
thanks

Cheers
