600 is on the money, you have to remember ppl charge out around $60 an hr regardless of what your mate wants, I see 3-4hrs of work here, plus parts

yrs ago I supplied my s/s headers and paid an extra 900 for the making of a 2" system consisting of s/s cat, res, and a cannon style muffler all in mild steel after the cat

but now the same mod will punch out cat backs from 350-450

i got custom 2.5" mandrel bent S/S cat back + magna flow metal cat installed for 1100.. if thats anything to go by.

ppl pay more for the skunk2 megapower, mugen etc. so just comes down to what you want. if its just noise then go get a good twinloop muffler. but if its performance then get an ECU while your at it, as this will help unlock the full potential of ur setup

i dont think exhausts are just exhausts.
you cant compare brands to custom, when some exhaust places do a really shit job.
they dont jus produce noise, comes down to so many factors

quality, and they are proven.

just get a jdm 2.20" stainless dc2r exhaust
will bolt up with minor mods depending on your set up
and alot cheaper

I got my new skunk2 megapowerR 2.75" for 750 for coupe. But i had hatchback, so i bring to exhaust shop for minor modification and adding a new cat. they charge me for 400 installed. all up i pay 1150.

u can try different exhaust shop for the labor charge. i tried before and some of them charge for 80 but some goes to 150. so all depends on the shop.

for that exhaust, the pricing seems pretty close to what i paid.

what you want is a system that is legal for road use in qld, not alot of point buying jdm when a dot inspector will fail you on emissions...

also get an actual cat, none of this high flow crap, hardly worth a $xxxxx epa fine infrigement notice (yes has happened to ppl before)

just pay a shop here to build a system, supply them with the jdm headers, as they are responsible for a legal system (noise and emissions) and if its not to par it falls back on them and not you personally

value for money would be mild steel, if you plan to keep the car for awhile or have better taste in design/bank roll to spend get s/s
