as u can see by title.. which one would be the best in a civic??? im going to do one of those conversions in my next car.. and im wandering how each one would run... ive already got a b16a jap spec in my civic sedan, but im selling it.. i want to get another civic sedan after, but im gonna put one of these engines in.. what do ya'll think? give me opinions on how each would run. (eg. if all 3 engines were in 3 civics on a drag race, what would happen? who would pull away at the start etc.?)

thanks

H22a.
why not just spend the extra cash on the b16a with cams and ECU and stuff
rather than another conversion.

The h22a would kill in a drag race. The power torque on that thing in a light weight chasis like an EG, even sedan, would be killer..

I cant say from experience, but from what ive read the h22a seems like a not so friendly daily driver. If you just want to street race and drag... chuck an aftermarked turbo kit on your b16... theres many threads about it on here, and there is a general consensus that 150kw at the wheels with stock internals is not unreasonable at all with a turbocharged b16a

A clarification on its intended purpose & your budget might prompt more helpful replies mate...what do you want to achieve from your conversion? Have you taken into account the costs involved? Things like that...

monet is not an issue.. i just want to kno which one runs hardest stock... thasts all.. i have the money for all 3 conversions.. im jsut wondering which one would run most torque, most kw.. etc

your not answering CRX-Andos question..

from your replies I take it you just want a nice fast street car/brag about car

If so the h22a is definatly the way to go and if you still find its not good enough, boost it .. since money isn't a problem..
Daily driving however, the h22a isn't going to be your friend ...

Best option B18c7 dropped into it..

then solved.

H22a u need different front suspension settings to combat the weight shifting problem

Not implicating your ignorance here but if all you're after is which engine has the higher power output & torque, how hard is it to do a search on it? I'm quite sure 99% of those on here are able to place the order of a B16A, B18C & H22A in terms of the HP being generated...I stand corrected but it seems a query where common sense has not been instilled nor utilised...

H22A- would win in a drag race hands down. But like the others said its not gona be a great car to turn in and you may have trouble keeping enough traction espicially on takeoff.

i think b18c is good but its very hard to source ... and it cost around 10k if u can find a half cut or something ... apparently k20 of da dc5 is better option ... and its alot easier to find da engine gl neway

There is no way a b18c would cost 10k... even a b18cR 1/2 cut wont cost 10k and he clearly stated in the title of the thread, b18c (VTI-R) which is a b18c2 (auspec)... 4k max for a b18c 1/2 cut or less for a the block alone if you can find one ..

H22A is the most powerful 147kw about 220nm of torque
B18C (Aussie Spec) 125kw about 178nm of torque
B16A (Jap Spec) 125kw about 157nm of torque

The H22A and the B18C are heavier and would require mods to front suspension. Wheel hubs have 5 nuts.

If money is no problem, then a B16B (type R) 136kw I think. They have hubs with 5 wheel nuts as well. Problem with this engine is expensive and rare. Parts would be hard to come by.

The Type R engine out of the integra (140kw) Aussie spec is the best option as parts are available in Oz. It would be the quickest out of the box. Again 5 wheel nut hubs.

Good luck.

I am not sure H22a can fit perfectly or not. however it is always better to put a bigger cc engine rather than put cams and stuff.. i have got all cams ecu... the car is not fast enough. and too much trouble tuning.
