View Full Version : 2 channel amp hookup
I just found my old amp sitting in the corner collecting dust, so I thought might make it to good use. I'm planning to hookup the 2 channel amp to my two front speakers and my sub. What would be the best wiring config to do it?

Better off trying the Audio/Video section I'd say.
I know shit all about sound system stuff lol.

I reckon unless you want mono sound in your front two speakers to connect the speakers in how you would normally, +-+- and then try putting the sub + into anyone of the positives and into the other speakers ground. just be careful with the output.

I am not suggesting put the +-+- and put the sub into them. this will cause the speaker having different level of current flowing through one speaker as it might cause to the sound distortion and even causing damage to the speaker or amp itself. This could happen more often if the power of speaker and sub is larger than the amp.
the best thing is either running the speaker only throught the amp or bridge the amp to run sub. then get another amp to run the rest.

ah yeah my bad
tired sorry
yeah youd have to wire it in different ports or youd get the frequency that should go from your speakers into your sub and root your sub
you wont have stereo sound though

Ehh.. get a monoblock or another 2 channel for the sub.. cant run speakers and sub off just a 2 channel amp.. you should get a 4 channel amp if you only want 1 amp for the 2 but best off just getting anothee 2 channel and bridging it into a monoblock or just get a proper monoblock
hope this helps

check how many rca preouts your deck has as well
if theres not enough the last thing you want to do is run
a rca splitting cable (a cable that splits 1 rca port into 2)
you will get constant power drop outs. it'll drive you nuts

I had this problem years ago.. as soon as a huge bass note (mega power drainage) would come up, it'd all just cut out :(
