Private Messaging

Was wondering if you guys can reduce the Private Message waiting time from 90 to like 40 or 30 secs.

Reason being and I believe I speak for everyone that 90 secs is too long, I pm someone then get a pm from a different member and try to pm the person but I have to wait then I do something else and forget about it.

Is it possible?:thumbsup:

This is a pretty good idea, but i think it will just add more stress on the website, right?

Maybe we can make up for it in other areas like in searching or general posts?

Lowering the pm timeout will prob increase the number of haxx0rs sending the whole forum a pm every few days with a virus link (as can be found on SAU/Boostcruising/CrxAus etc etc)

That's pretty much the main reason.

In fact this (http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=81905&highlight=pm*)was brought up last year and I dropped it to 60 seconds. Not long after we got some SPAM PM advertisers who abused it and it went back up to 90 seconds.

Anyways I have moved it down to 60 seconds given that most users can only PM one person at a time. However if we get abuse again I will have to move it up to 90 seconds..

is the spam coming from automated sytems wyn ? or users..

if its automated, then i guess anyhting in between 60/90 should filter them out
