Hey..

my mates got a civic ed but it was working fine till recently where it will start fine and run fine but when he turns it off it wont start till its cooled down or even like a few hours later it will start and then it will be fine...

What you think it could be ? Starter motor ? Dizzy ? Im just abit confused with it...

this happend to my dad's 1990 corolla. I think he said it was coz of starter motor or something. IF they engine wont start, try to use wet cool cloth and pt it over the rocker cover or spill water on it. It worked with dads carby corolla...

give it a shot, im not sre, maybe engine's just too old?

more than likely the main relay, common problem.

I did abit of research today as well.. They said it could be the grounding as well.. So it started today fine and he went for a drive for about 10 mins came back and turned it off straight away and it starts up but when he leaves it for about 30 mins it doesnt wanna start... So im thinking its the main relay... Cause it does crank over fine just doesnt ignite every time ?

well my car is doing the same thing..my ed died on me awhile ago changed the dizzy, started straight away. starts fine most times in any weather but some times it take acouple of turns to start..turns off ok but engine hops for a few secs.

So i would think its the main relay if they have one..

Well i spoke to DR HONDA and he said they dont have main relays so they dont.. And i spoke to TOP1 and he said its most likely the ignition coil!

So check the coil!

But everytime i think about it the more it sounds like a main relay but there isnt one :| Or could it be a carby problem ? Not getting enough air ? HELPPPPPPPPPPP

Did abit more research.. It could be the fuel injectors as well...

It should be the coil.. TOP1 said it was after they poured cold water on the dizzy.. Started fine...
