Hi does anyone know what dimension and accord euro 2003 should get for this shift knob.
They say there are two dimensions
10 x 1.5
12 x 1.5
Does anyone know which one will fit? Also will these fit with the orignal honda euro boot? or are there minor alterations that need to be made?
Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on the skunk2 shift knob.

Hey thanks i can see that one is 10 x 1.5 but no where does it say that he drives a euro. They onlytalk about the jazz. Will that 10 x 1.5 fit the euro?
Thanks

And will you need to make any amendments to the boot or will it fit snug?

The boot won't be held up because there is a plastic adapter that clips into the stock knob. You will have to remove that plastic adapter and cable tie the boot to the stick from the inside so that it holds up the boot against the Skunk2 knob.

Isn't the plastic adapter white in colour? I didn't like the white adapter look especially when it is on a black boot and silver knob. :p

Is there a walkthrough on how to make your OEM shift boot look good and stay up with an aftermarket gear knob on? I've got a Skunk2 one on the way....
Just after basic info like how to pull apart that section of the console to get into the inside of the shift boot, how to do the cable tie trick etc?

Pull at the boot so that the trim comes off. If one side comes off first, put it back down and pull again.
Then invert the boot and cable tie it as close to the threads as possible. Then pull the boot/trim back down over the cable tie and it will look neat. Screw the nut and knob down and admire your handywork.

Sweet, thanks man... So the trim has to come out evenly or the clips will break?
And how difficult is it to remove the white plaatic thing? Looks like it's glued to the shift boot?

Yes, pull evenly otherwise the clips will break or worse, the trim will break.
The white plastic thing is cable-tied to the boot on the inside. So just cut to cable tie and take the white plastic adapteroff.

for mine
i couldn't be bothered playing around with the white adapter
so i just used black sticky tape to wrap the whole adapter
to match the boot

OK, installed the skunk2 gearknob today.... I decided to flip the clippy thing that used to attach to the old gear knob..... but i sprayed it black first.....
I'm still not 100% on how it looks, thinking i might do a civic type R shift boot, i reckon it will look good with the red of the shift pattern.... Is there a reason i haven't seen this done on a euro before? Is there a problem with the CTR boot fitting on our cars?

Guys,
I've had problems getting the boot off. i have a lux with the seat warmer switches. When you talk about removing the trim is it the whole grey section that goes around the seat warmer switches, or just the chrome plastic section around the base of the boot ?? Either way i'v pulled at it from all angles but gave up as it felt close to breaking something. Any hints ?
Also, I have a black leather momo knob I was planning to install but this doesn't have gear selection pattern on the top of the knob. Is a blank knob considered "legal" or would it be picked up on a rego inspection ? (although they don't do these until the cars 5 years old now i believe)
Thanks in advance.
Neil

It's the whole garnish, not just the chrome part.... it's not easy to get out just make sure you're gentle but forceful with it and be careful not to break any clips or worse... the garnish.....
Not sure in NSW but in VIC AFAIK a knob without the shift pattern is illegal.... UNLESS you have a shift pattern diagram next to the shifter or something....

Try prying it from the ashtray side. Open the ashtray lid and then insert something flat, wide and stiff enough to pry it apart without damaging it.
