One thing we need to be mindful is of racism.
This is my point -

Dear Bigot, please be reminded that
1) OzHonda was founded by a SriLankan
2) OzHonda is 90% asian - yourfather, SHOGUNOVDDRK, bennjamin, 95civic, Krogoth, claymore and Lukey are the token whiteys
3) Unless you are aborigine, you're an immigrant so stfu.
4) Just like Australia, if you are a member, do your bit to be part of the community and try to be as inclusive as possible, we don't really care if you are Mainland Chinese, Hongkie, Viet or Teochew.

guys, you are asking for an infraction by promoting racism in this thread.
i'm going to PM INVSBL and BI85LL asking them what do they mean by the type of post they wrote. if they do not give me an explanation then i'll infract them.

i think the posting of a single post easily loses its context
hence the reason why i sent a PM to the members asking for an explanation of what they meant.

members have to realise that moderating a forum isnt easy; so there is no right or wrong, good or bad way of doing things. each moderator is different and you have to respect the decision made by the moderator.

its just the simple fact that those chosen to moderate/police/lead/referee/whatever any part of society,is usually best left to the less trigger-happy people & in this case when a cultural difference in the form of sense of humour is leaning further against the trigger, that doesnt help.
not saying the trigger-happy people dont have a good role to play in society, just not a role of moderation.
its rather blindingly obvious that claymore would do a world of good sifting out some of the crap in the tech sections, rather than trying to sift thru an aussies sense of humour in the lounge.

the people that have chosen to moderate/police/lead/referee/whatever are who? They are exactly the same as us. only they have the power to moderate/police/lead/referee/whatever based on their set of personal values and apply them to the rules of the forum. If you want to look at it from a political point of view, how democratic is that? Ozhonda's moderatoring team is no different to Mugabe's show. moderators pick other moderators based on their own personal decision making which does not represent the wider ozhonda community. that is why there are so many moderator/member clashes. ozhonda's moderating team should pick persons for nomination but the final decision should be made by the wider ozhonda community.
Owning and providing Ozhonda is one thing but policing it and using power over others is another.

i dont really mind what the new mods are doing.
speak softly and carry a big stick is a great proverb but its important that they at least establish themselves at the start.
i am quite sure the amount of shit posting has reduced significantly.
we should focus on other key community issues and block the bad stuff.
well you see if the final decision was made by voting for example for new mods, there wouldnt be moderator/member clashes. for example claymore. perhaps if the members of ozhonda had the final decision on his moderatorship then he might of not been a moderator and this debacle would never have arisen.

i think that if we did what you proposed, we'd have a popularity contest instead of a team of moderators.
even in our democracy, we don't choose who the judges are.
its not a popularity contest because the site owner wynode would first pick possible candidates then the wider ozhonda community would make the final decision by vote.
Who the judges are? are you referring to judges? as in judicial officers? if so you are wrong. in very simple terms without having to make a lecture on democracy, persons who we delegate powers to pick judges.

EGHT, this is an online forum, not a country. So don't expect for there to be a public vote.
