Hey guys
i bought a HID kit off ebay recently, installed it and i noticed that one light was flickering abit, i thought it was normal for new HID's, so i continued using them. Then after a few days they both lights started flickering. They don't flicker to much just enough to annoy me. Has this happened to anyone before and anyone know a solution?
Cheers

in my experience, wen the flickering begins, the bulbs are on their way out...

at a guess i'd say it's just a bad power connection

EDIT: it isnt really flickering its more of a twitching of the light, happens both when car is on and off

add more earths on that side of the ballast, one of mine did this before also and after adding in more earths on that side it stopped

It's the ballast.

double check all the connections are properly connected.
looks like the ballast needs replacing from my experience.. happened to me.

you put more wires to the balast where it earths. I know on my EU there were too many plastic bits and i couldn't earth properly. Just add some more earthing wires.
I do know though that if you let it keep going it will damage the bulb. I didn't fix mine and the bulb died in like a month.

After earthing more mine fixed itself. May try to change ballast as that side is now going lower

Hey limbo when you say add more earthing wires, do i go buy some and add it to the ballast itself, because my aftermarket HIDs are flickering, well have been since day 1.

you will be lucky if you pay with paypal. Def something wrong with it either connection or ballast problem. Check ever connection include the ballast to bulb and ballast to batt.

If still then ask for exchange/refund

bad connection, could be anywhere in the setup inluding inside the globes or ballast.
Have you got a multimeter? Test for correct continuous voltage on input of ballast (round 12v), if not right its an earthing problem or a low battery. Test if there's a continuous voltage coming from the ballast output (should match the output voltage printed on the ballast). Test continuity of the globe (may not work on HID globes due to there setup, not sure).
Is it in your integra or in a newer car? I dunno if new hondas have auto-light-turnon (like commodores and lancers ect..) but HIDs ussally dont work properly with it.

yeah that's worth a try first, it won't harm it. I had an aftermarket earthing kit i was gonna put in so i just put it in and noticed it fixed my problem

just be carful as the HID relay kit maybe different to your bulbs & balast.
I've had 4 kits now and i notice they were all different in the wiring & relays & the bulbs were slightly different

try a hid relay kit
