Hey guys

Im thinking about trading my ek for an eg... has anyone ever done it and regretted it?

- i love the look of the eg however feels like a downgrade looks and interior wise?

tell me what you guys think

each to their own i guess... personally, i like the ek interior better, also, why would anyone wanna get rid of a newer car for an older car?... unless the pro's outweigh the cons...

thats my dilemma right there... why would you... however just love my eg's they have so much more potential imo lighter, easy to work with, crapload of aftermarket parts (not like an ek doesnt) but you catch my drift.....

yeah, i catch your drift... and like i said, each to their own... i'm not saying one's better than the other, but both do have potential...

ive owned both as daily drivers. kinda wanna go back to eg. but ek interior is so much more friendly.

if i had to choose between b18c ek and b18c eg but i would go ek still

id prefer ek4 back seats with dc2r front interior in a eg.

ek4 for a eg, never
ek1 for a eg5 yeah

put ek interior into ur eg, if that is possible.

anyway, i think eg looks nicer than ek as i have a eg, i just dont like the light of the ek, the headlight id too big.

but ek9 body is good looking too.

but EG is older, so check the underneath of the car, see if any dents and stuff. at the end of the day, older car has more problems in general

personally I prefer the way an eg drives over the ek (i have eg5 and daughter has ek1 and have driven a friends ek4)
if you havnt driven an eg, do so. it will come down to personal preference in the end. just make sure the car has been serviced regularly, accident history etc. as this will play a part in what your costs will be in upkeep (an abused car will cost more to look after no matter how old or new it is)

iv got an eg5 and my m8s got an ek1 and personally i prefer the eg5 its easyer 2 drive and i just love the egs look but the egs interior is very limited. There isnt enough compartments and the ones that it has are a hassle to get to i nearly have 2 take off my seat belt 2 reach it lol but yea thats just me it all comes down to what you want at the end of the day your driving it not us

eg interior is limited @ stock unlike the ek, however there are mods to make the interior pretty and awesome for example eg6 centre console!

Find an eg6 for sale. goodluck :D

also, noticed that when your in the cabin, eg's make more rattling sounds than an ek... my ek, with a busted cat made less rattling noises than some of the eg's i've been in...

but yeah, personal preference.... lol

I love my delsol but in saying that they are an acquired taste and many people dont like the way they drive.

if you are seriously concidering buying a del drive one and see what you think.

i've driven both an ek4 & a b20 eg.
I have to say the eg is a nice car if your just wanting to fang it around, but i prefer the creature comforts of the ek which are alot better. Even though my ek's more sluggy than the eg

seems to be people mixing up the practical point of view to the style point of view.

eg interior is not very practical, not enough pockets, not all has a box above the hand brake, or the pocket on the doors.

EK are more practical.

but i think EG interior looks nicer than EK.

I love the EK shape, I'd rather a EK than a EG. But then a ED with a B16 would be pro.

I had an eg before. it was awesome. easier to do converstion and seems more roomy inside. Now I got an ek4 and I love the seats and newer look. Both of them are really good but if you ask me, I would stick with the newer car. I wish the newer civics were as good looking as the eks and egs so I dont have to go back and buy an older car. Hehe

Lets see now.

I had a 96 EK1 a few cars ago. It was not the most agile of cars out there but a few mods changed that.

I then got rid of that and upgraded?? to an EG VTi. Performance wise the car was a lot better mainly due to the better SOHC engine and the ride height etc.

BUT

would i buy another EG?

NOPE!

The thing that always got me about the EK was the potential even with the crappy CXI model. Sure the ride wasn't as great as the EG but it could be improved with the right mods and made to be a comfortable car. Not saying an EG cant be modded but i am saying that little extra room in the car made longer trips like the one from Adelaide to Melb so much better.

man depends on what you are gettin...aka engine wise i would swap my ek4 for a k20 eg anyday :P. you just have to decide whether you want it to be neater inside and out...but bear in mind that you can also clean things up aesthetically
