and what are the sizes for the high beams anyway???

thanks...

id check a couple things- any shorts in the wiring? fuse correct amperage? did you touch the glass on the bulb when installing?

might not be too relevant depending on year and region but you can have a look here for the bulb if your too lazy to take it out n see ;p

Probably too high or inconsistent voltage. Check earth voltage with mutimeter (should be the same as the voltage across the bat). Most likely this as if it where the battery or fuse or something other things would go too.

are you using extended wattage 'blue' bulbs? ie, 90w/110w instead of the 55w/65w?

Did you touch the glass of the bulb with your fingers?

Did you touch the glass of the bulb with your fingers?

oh yeah that is the primary cause.

but i used to blow bulbs coz i touched myself at ngiht lol

nope did not touch the bulbs at all.....and its a 55w/65w

might have to check the fuse .....what should the fuse amperage be???

the only other immediate thing apart from crappy brand is what TEE.KAY is suggesting.

check the voltage of your car while the motor is running and rev it a few times... if it exceeds 14.8v your alternator is on it's way out and so will your battery.

the relevance to light globes in the car... over voltage blows the filament... however this is only more apparent with led bulbs anywhere in the car as they don't have filaments... they just blow

fuse should be what ever it says on the fusebox

sounds like the amperage of your fuse is too high... fuse box will tell you what amp fuse to use as end7 stated. :) goodluck

Im 99% sure DC5s use 55w.

Just changed the bulbs on my DC5S.
low beam H1 55W
high beam HB3/9005 55W

Electricity doesn't work that way.... The bulb will draw 55W if it is rated for 55W. The fuse does not limit power consumption to 55W. It will draw more if there is a short after the bulb causing a higher draw than 55W, pulling it through the fuse and bulb and hence burning it.

ok found the problem.....was a loose wire at the plug connector.......thanks for the help guys......

I think what Henessaayyy meant was:

that the function of the fuse is to make sure that you dont blow other components; instead of fuse itself.

Say your fuse is rated 10A. If the ampere that go through the fuse more than 10A (say 15A) therefore the fuse will blow.

If davoh using higher fuse (eg 15A so the fuse dont blow) but he risk to blow your switch or bulbs.
