What to call my civic?

Okay, it may sound like a newb question, in fact, it probably is.. but give me a break here, i'm new to the oldschool scene!

I am about to purchase a 1987 Civic GL 3 dr hatch.

In the past I have had a EK1 Civic and a DC4 Integra, my question is.. does the Civic i'm getting have a 'code' like EK, DC etc?

Otherwise, i'm left with something like this....

Me: Oh a hektik Civic
Random Fanboy1: Oh fully!? What kind, is it vtec?
Me: Oh it's a 1987 Honda Civic GL 1.5 Carby, 5 speed manual
