I noticed my globes for my headlights are H4, but when I search up on a globe site, they show a number of different globes for HID's...
It says my car uses 9006 for low beam and 9005 for high beam..

whats the g-o with that? confuses the hell out of me...

well depending on where the site is from, it can be suited to regions... so if you were using a US based site, most likely your getting USDM specs... keep in mind some cars are imports, some have headlight swaps so most of the data wont be accurate

your best bet -> pull what ever you have on the car and go from there. that way you know for sure it fits.

id suggest; go get halogen bulbs , do a search for HID's and ull get lots about people saying ' how do i stop glare' im blurring people, etc etc,
big hassle without projectors!

are they as bright:
they probably arnt as bright, but youll definately increase your visability to a suffecient amount. or atleast incvrease ti significantly.

wattage varies from bulb to bulb
id suggest looking up phillips crystal vision.

Your car won't use 9006/9005 (HB4/HB3 found on DC2's), get some H4 Phillips +80% bulbs from autobarn, super bright for just halogen bulbs.

Id suggest osram nightbreaker that the price is cheaper than phillips extreme power (these two the brightest you can find) but they should be bout the same brightness.

HID's put out 3000+ lumen. The only halogens that put out just over 1000 lumen are Osram Nightbreakers, Narva Blue Power and Phillips Extremes. Phillips being the best quality of the 3. I'm not sure Nightbreakers are ADR approved either. Halogen will never be as bright as a HID.

On another note, LED technology has come a very very long way in the last few years. At work we're selling LED lightbars that can put out 2000 lumen. Give it another year or so and I can almost guarantee cars will be using headlights consisting of a few hundred ultra bright LED's. Will allow for awesome designs as it doesn't require the depth of a traditional light.

So you guys really think the HID's wouldn't be any good because of glare and blinding people? Even if I faced the light beam lower, it'd still be bad? May aswell get them globes huh ?
