hey guys,

this guy parked his car out the front of my shop today - i couldnt believe what i was seeing so i went outside to inspect it! it was a 4 door VTIR teggy! twas in damn clean as well. so i went back inside and spoke to the customer who owned the car. he bought it in 1998 whilst in japan. apparently its VERY rare (only like 10 in australia he said?). honestly - i couldnt believe my eyes.

anyone else seen one of these babies?

there's 2 in brisbane that i've seen a green bug eye (brobably gsi spec) with hub caps, black mirrors and no spoiler and a dark blue jdm front, i'd say vtir because of the mags (blades) and colour coding, both 4-stud so no type r :(

i think the DB6 are base model and SiR 4 door tegs, DB7 are the ones with bug eyes and DB8 are the type r's

I use to own a few back in NZ xsi's (B16a1 an 2's) an would love another one Not many people think theyre fast but will suprise you. Found one in victoria to. Standard B16a 5 speed if its the real mc-coy.

resurrect and old thread...

I own a jdm db6(1995) bug eye and live in brissie, ive seen 2 other bug eyes around 1 silver and 1 red one that looked like it could have been a civic with a teg front end as the paint was faded so bad.

The vehicle models ti,xi, xi 4wd, xi-g and sir-g and engines that were available in these versions are 1.6l sohc dual carb(mine), 1.6l sohc pgm-fi and 1.8l dohc vtec i dont know which engines were available across the other specs but the ti has all versiosns of the the 1.6 + 1.8 no 4wd though thats only for the xi.
apparently there where non bug eye versions available up until 1995 along side the bug eyes.

In the d8b's there is a type r engine option as they went to b18's after the db6 which are all d series series engines from what i have been able to find out.

at the moment i am considering an engine upgrade as the carbs are givin me the s...s with poor fuel economy and finding other engine parts is quite a challenge as my block is stamped ZC i know its equivalent to the us d16a6 but i have not been able to match it to an aus model unless any one can help???

my in-laws brought mine in as it was theirs when the y live in japan and they sold it to me when they bought their new car here.

try a good car importer, there are a few good companies on the web that import them try google on bd6 integra imports. i have never dealt with any of them so i can not recommend any one.

maybe try befriending a local importer or maybe phoenix imports i just googled motor vehicle imports australia and they came up its auction based from what i can see.
