hey fellas. i have an ek 99 hatch, my problem here is i have the hand brake light coming on, its mainly when i step on the accelerator or taking off, i've tried, undoing the wire that goes to the handbrake mechanism, and unplugged it and in, and it still does the same problem, so i'm guessing a problem could be somewhere in the cluster or something? can anyone help me solve this problemo cheers

Have you check your brake fluid level? Most common is the brake fluid low but not too low; cause the light to turn on sometimes. Also check your brake pad whether it needs replacement. Third is try to check NC (normally close) switch is normally located under the handbrake handle (not sure never take it off EK before).

do you have an aftermarket handbrake cover of some sort? it could be that your handbrake lever isnt down enough..? something is blocking it just right at the sensor'

everything is stock standard, could be an electrical problem

Rear light bulb is blown, have some1 stand behind and have a look , when you step on the brake to see if they all light up

dont think the light bulb will have anything to do with the handbrake light on the cluster mate, becasue all of them work
