Civic Type R FN2 tyre choice

Hi All,

Just wondering what the best value tyre is for the FN2 Civic Type R

One of the boys from my work has one and it needs new tyres for rego, he has been quoted $385 per tyre for Dunlop Sport Max (fitted) but seeing as he just bought a house, money is not exactly flowing from champagne bottles around him etc.

He was thinking of getting Kuhmo tyres, but is wondering just how much it will affect the road-holding?

He has the standard factory alloys (18 inch)

khumo's are that bad. i'd recommend them if price is an issue.
not the best but are pretty decent for the price.

He went and got just a pair of the Dunlops, will do for now, I would have got the Khumo's and had 4 new ones haha, but if anyone here has some on-road experience of what they got and why, would be good to hear
