View Full Version : removing eg power steering.

hey guys how do u remove power steering from eg. do i need to buy a diff steering rack ? or can i just pull it all out. and what exactly do i need to take out ?

If you can find a manual rack it would be best, but I doubt it.

Have a decent range of tools to help you get off the pump, belt and lines most specifically the hard lines going into the rack.

Then get some fittings and a hose to loop the the rack and there you go deleted ps w/ looped rack.

Not that hard, pretty straight forward.

No such manual rack released for the eg in oz.

You will just have to remove all lines and replace with a small loop and breather.

Done right it will work fine and never leak . I have done it on my car and a dozen others and works fine.

where do i get the connections from ? to loop and connect it? so its not hard to do ?

I drop the entire sub frame to remove all piping.
Then take the two male connectors to the base of the column joint , weld a joiner piece and join the two via a rubber hose. With a breather.
Fill up with Honda power steering fluid bleed all air out of system then ready to rock.

sorry to ask but why are you removing the power stearing? for Track?
