Hi all
been lurking for a few months prior to and since purchasing 07 cl9 05at lux nav b & b
its absolutely stock afaik and have no short term plans to go down the mods route
what I am curious about is to get opinions and experiences of the various genuine accessories available eg headlight protectors, bonnet protectors, those "windshields" on driver and passenger windows, etc
any "must have"?
any "dont even think about it"?
I realise that mostly this is just down to personal preference and taste ...considered a poll but for a first post thought it was maybe too ambitious and unnecessary.
I enjoy the forum (mostly) and have found it a valuable tool in conjunction with the US TSX sites
all the best guys and gals

bonnet and headlight protectors will save you from chips etc, but are expensive and detroy the look of the car... IMO theres not much point runing the appearance of something by trying to maintain its appearance. like with dash mats, why cover the dash when its perfect. enjoy having a nice dash while you have it, then cover it when its cracked...
as for window shields, there are a few diff brands and styles avail and are a good buy if you like driving with your windows down, if you always drive with the a/c on theres no point, they can scratch the trim and create wind noise.
i have the genuine floor mats and mud flaps front and rear and i am really happy with both, they protect the car and dont detract from appearance. I also got stainless door sills from place in melb called burg design which look great and cost about $100 if i remeber correctly.

Like you said, its all up to personal taste tho :) look at pics around here of various setups and accesories.

thanks for that sdablhad..reason I asked is that most pics dont emphasise the accessories but more wheels engines shocks etc
I really like simplicity in most things..not a bling sort of guy..and am not interested in making the car even more of a target for vandals and thieves...we are smokers and thats an issue...dont run ac when smoking...open the sunroof fully to drag the smoke out...and then blast the car with fresh air by opening all windows after...dont do it while smoking as the wind just blows ash everywhere...that method is obviously no good in rainy weather...tilt the sunroof instead but it doesnt seem as effective..thats why i was considering the side window shields/deflectors
once i started with that thought i wondered about potential practical benefits of other accessories
