hey guys my car was stripped by panel beater today ready for paint. he cut on of the wires from brake light in spoiler and we un-plugged all other plugs we needed to. now we plugged em all in except for the one he cut. now i keep blowing fuses. the one that is for rear lights and cluster lights. what could it be ?

you put what ever fuse its meant to be in there, can't put bigger ones if its not going to compensate for it

what could be the reason for blowing fuse in first place though ?

Like he said the first time round, there is a short circuit somewhere in your car.

Or you could try and just rewire the wire your mechanic cut.

hey matt, my guess is the cable you said he cut (active) is touching your ground/chassis. DO NOT use a higher amperage fuse, as you WILL melt the insulation on that circuit you have put the higher rated fuse into. im pretty sure that fuse protects other circuits.

just crimp/solder a join to the cable he cut. if you do solder make sure you either put heat shrink or electrical tape to insulate the copper cable.

yes which is short cicuit, like i said in the first place but he obviously knows it was a short curcuit, its casued by a live wire touching somehwere against the chasis, or another metal contact of the vehicle

found problem. at first it was the wire touching body. i re-wired light still doing it. then i dis-connected the power cable and it started working fine again. think maybe my wiring is farked in my duck bill brake light
