hi guys ..i have a base DC5 with an aluminium radiator..was juggling between the Billion Super Thermo LLC oily coolant and just the Honda oem blue Coolant.

which would be a better way?

is it really better to go for an oily type coolant??

i dont want my aluminium radiator to have rust and all that ...

thanks

OEM... ftw bro, but either way coolant is coolant. all you gotta do is not mix and match.
i hav an ali radiator and im just using tectaloy concentrate mixed with demineralised water...

and aluminium doesnt rust, it corrodes due to oxidation.

I wouldn't be worried about the radiator. Coolant selection depends on the waterpump in the engine. That is the part that undergoes corrosion and leads to failure where the coolant stops circulating.

Honda coolant is the best in the car industry next to BMW (I know M3 owners who use Honda coolant tho for one reason tho (price)) :)

I pulled apart my old rad after 220000k and it was brand new still inside

mate the Honda coolant will not leave any rust in there whatso ever

whatever stuff is in there has more potential to cause harm than good

I'd use OEM Honda coolant personally. Use OEM fluids on OEM components I say!

I work on BMW's and know that the current models generally run between 100-110degress celcius at normal operating temperature (for better fuel economy etc). So the OEM BMW coolant is obviously designed for those high (compared to most) operating temperatures.

i only use water + redline water wetter thinking the whole system is aluminium, dont need anti corrosion and anti freeze...
obviously i forgot water pump blade is steel. *ran out to get coolant*

tru......i rang up toyota today and they said they have Toyota PINK???? and its better than Toyota Red?? apparently this is nearly up to par to the BMW's???? i got it cheap as my mate works at toyota....got it for about $65 for 6 litres.....

changing and flushing system out tonite.....we'll see how the coolant goes...
