Hey guys,

I've currently got a set of advanti vienna rims on my 2000 Accord V6L. with a setup of 18x8 (with 235/40/18 rubber) on the front and 19x8 (with 245/35/19 rubber) on the back. I bought them with the staggered fitment as they were a good deal at the time. Since then I've decided to go for 18 all round due to a bit of scrub on the rear bumper after guards have been rolled, it happens when i take passengers which can be a bit of an inconvenience...

After a lot of searching around I found a spot locally to get 2 18x8 same as my front but got a call from them this morning saying that 1 of them had been sold and they only had 1 left which is from interstate. He offered me the same rims in 18x7.5 and not 5x114.3 but multi stud instead, he has 3 of these in-store.

So I'm left with the choice...should I keep my staggered setup or buy the 18x7.5 multistud and have 2 sets of wheels with different widths and stud holes... ???

I'm considering going the 18x7.5 route at the moment as it seems the only option...would probably put 225/40/18 rubber on them.

If I was to buy the 18x7.5 would it be better to put these up front and move my wider 18x8 to the back? Most of the US accord dudes I've seen do this, seems to look better with wider at back, what are your thoughts?

I'm in the process of selling the 19's at the moment so any advice would be appreciated...

Well - what tyres sizes do you want in the long run? For a street saloon, staggered tyres tend to look odd.

One other option is to buy the 3 18 x 7.5 off the guy and then buy a new replacement of the same one, then sell your other set.

Or keep waiting until you can source the full 18 x 8 which you really want.

My opinion is, I'd go for the 7.5 and run 225, I think any larger is abit too big for the Accord.

this is not helpful
but god damn

the side shot of the accord makes it look so small?

still needing some help on this topic...so thought i'd bump up this post.

to get the wheels to sit within the guards i need an offset of 46+, i've currently got rims with an offset of +38 with tyres of 245/35 on 8" wide 19's. Is there anything I could change on the tyre side of things to try and reduce the width/offset.

The rear wheels are only scrubbing on the rear bumper tab so the height of the tyres may be an issue...

perhaps 225/35's or 215/35's or 30's?

any advice on changing the tyre setup?

if u can get a high offset rim, then do that.

or as u said, just get thinner tyres and have them stretched onto the rim. i would avoid a profile too low, cos they will mean harsher ride, easier to dent/buckle alloys

if i were u, get the 18" rims .

fyi, the rims on my accord back then were convservative 17x7 with an offset of +53. no scrubbing whatsover. ideally +48 to +50 would've been good for more flushness.

cheers jeff. sounds like the answer i was looking for. I'm thinking i'll probably just change the tyres for now and save my pennies...then sell these off sometime in the future then change to a +47 or more 18x8" so they sit inside the guard...then dump it 3-4" as thats how ive always envisioned my accord haha.

whats good for suspension for our accords? i heard coilovers are hard to find....what are the neuspeed sports lowered like? 2.0 drop or thereabouts? if i was to change springs in the future would i need to change shocks to? koni's and neuspeeds seem a good combo...
