does any one know if it is safe to wire a second amp to the same 12v cable from the first amp?
instead of rewiring all the 12v to the battery and back to the amp is it safe if i attached and solder the second amp 12v wire to the first amp 12v wire?
cheers
lol dont worry relise i need a ditributer block instead

Hi, its safe to wire 2 amps in 1 power cable and ground cable aslong you have a distribution block. Its a splitter kind of thing it not that expensive you get one from ebay easy. But if you are goin to use 2 amps i recommend you to get a capacitor so that the battery wont drain quickly..

but if i get a cap, do i also need another distributor block?. so will have 2 dist blocks in total, one from the other amp, and another for the cap?

It depends on what size wire you have right now. For 2 1000W amps I would suggest running 2awg or 1/0awg wire then use a distribution block to split it to the 2 amps with 4awg and ground them separately with 4awg. I would also suggest upgrading your alternator and the 'Big 3' wires. (batt.-alt./batt.-chassis/chassis-engine block)

as mentioned, a distro block is what youre after
8awg will be fine. no need for a cap, if your gonna spend any more money use that dough to upgrade the wiring/electrical system instead.
oh you only need 1 distro as well, not 2. like hectic said, "its a splitter kind of thing". at a minimum you want a t-style block, like this:http://www.autotoys.com/pics/thumbs/t_SPD510.jpg
