Hi again,

I was wondering if I bought a VAFCII with the right harness for my car - 03 CIVIC SEDAN - nonvtec, will it still work correctly? Is there any adjustments required for it to function properly? I am looking to do an EX head swap eventually someday down the track, and didn't want to get a SAFC and have to swap it for a VAFC. So my question is, will it work properly with a non-vtec engine without adjustments? Any info would be appreciated.

Cheers!

Just for your information, there's only one common harness for vafc2. They come with it. It's more like how you wire them. The only thing you need to take note is to leave the Vtec wire from the harness unconnected. Also, you shouldn't face any problems in tunning the air fuel ratio according to my experience. The vtec point will not work for you I guess.

But I am just wondering why don't you consider getting Apexi Neo? It's suitable for both vtec and non vtec cars.

Ahh.. Apexi Neo? I didn't know about that one. I've seen it around but I wasn't sure if it was going to work for my application. I'm just following directions from our american counterparts in regards to the VTEC head swap. Thanks for the info Cymax! Appreciate it!

it doesn't matter what you are doing with your engine. Both Apexi Neo and VAFC 2 can be used for with and without head swap. Bear in mind that you shouldn't expect much gain from NEO and VAFC. Ultimately, they are just piggy backs that overrides your stock ECU. The only thing that it overrides is the airfuel control. By looking at the wiring diagram of VAFC/NEO, you will realise that only vtec solenoid signal and pressure signal is override. Hence, only playing with the air fuel ratio.

I would recommend you getting other ECUs like hondata or E-manage ECUs. Search in the forum and you should get more info of other ECUs.
