Just wondering if anyone is running 225/50/15 with their civic.
I'm looking at running 225/50/15 on my stock ek4 rims, just wondering if they will rub that's all

tyre will overhang too much
Need at least a 7-8inch wide rim

hmm do you know if it will rub on the body?
I guess i'll invest in a 15x7 if i have to but i dun wanna bother if the tyres are just gonna rub

why 225? 205 are enough.

isnt a bigger profile better for traction because u get more sidewall flex? taking off that is.

225s are crazy dude, i'm running 215s & that's hella width already.
Get the Toyo T1-S from Taleb Tyres, they're awesome

At a given psi, a 225 wide tyre will have the same sized contact patch as a 205 tyre. However, the 205 tyre will have a longer contact patch as opposed to the 225's wider contact patch.
For traction (i.e. getting power to the ground with minimum wheelspin, or to maximise braking) you want a longer contact patch in preference to a wider one (and lower psi, but this is bad for handling).

yeah 2 sets of 15s a set of 16s. I got rid of the rest now too many bloody sets lol
225/50R16 DO rub on stock suspension.
It doesn't answer you're question, but I don't think the 12.5mm difference in radius will be enough.
Also, depends slightly on the width of the rim.
Benson, did you run the 225's on the street?

I run 225s all round, they did initially rub abit on the front until I "lipped" the guards. They're heavier if you don't have power steering but they do make abit of a difference. You shouldn't really be running them on a 6.5 rim though, at least a 7.
