Hey guys, occasionally when i try to start my car nothing happens.

The batteries fine.
The starter motor seems fine (never struggles to turn the engine, ussally starts in bout 1 second).
Its like when i turn the key the signal is not being sent to the starter motor? But it only happens sometimes, not very often, so it must just be a loose conection somewhere i guess (i've had a look and there's nothing obvious around the area).
Some people i've asked have said maybe the solinoid?
Can anyone add to this before i pay someone too check it out?
Thanks in advance, ..TK

next time it doesnt start, just touch straight 12V feed from the battery onto the solenoid terminal,if it starts its a wiring issue,if it doesnt its a starter solenoid issue.

is the car auto or manual?
if it is manual,do u have to depress the clutch before u can start it?

So run a wire from the + terminal to the + terminal on the starter motor?

Sometimes Immobilisers can cause exactly what your saying

OR

A battery that once had a potential of 100% now only has say 50% maximum potential but shows up as 100% charged.U can have a battery shop check that for you. This was my problem and was causing the same problem as you described.

battery + >>>> starter solenoid terminal(the smallest wire of the 2 going to starter motor)

immob's on starter wire is ghey,u bypass them by doing exactly as above

I see.

After I read that a few times,it's easy as! Makes pefect sense.

thats all the ignition key does beez, when u hold it to start,it justs connects battery + to the starter solenoid, simple.

if u put immob on the starter wire, even junkies prob carry a spare bit of wire just to bypass the immob, considering theres already that massive battery+ supply bolted to the starter motor sitting about an inch away from the solenoid terminal.

Squeeze the terminal with pliers & refit to stater solinoid.
This will likley solve your issue.
(Maybe clean is a little with 1000 wet & dry also)

OMG.JAI xD

Contacts in your ignition switch could be corroded/degraded.

^^YES!

That happened to me...I replaced the ignition switch (with the help from my mate) $130 from honda.I also heat shinked and taped it up real good to slow a thief down.

i know mine does it sometimes. Pretty sure mine is the immoboliser as i have the factory & one that is with the alarm. I just take my key out put it back in and its fine

its prob just your aftermarket immob relays going bad guys,$5 & 5mins work.
also could be crappy wiring on the immob relays, like poor ground connections.
