Hey guys just a quick question

I have a MTEC H1 HID kit used in my old car (from liquidsound. i got rid of the car, now i have a civic EK 96 model. and would like to put this kit on the civic,

I was thinking of buying replacement H4 HID bulbs and rewire it for the kit and putting them onto my civic.

I jsut want to know if this would work? do i need to change the ballast too?
and what would happen to my high beams because my civic only has 1 bulb for both high and lo beams.

Thanks guys

you could do rewire ..with the ek you can use hid low beam and standrd high

or just sell your kit and get new kit duel high low hid

I would like to save you a defect and money and have you just buy bright legal ADR bulbs that dont have ballasts that will die :)

ranging in price from $30(calibre blue bulbs I bought, that are avail at any supercheap auto store) -$90 (Phillips ones which are the exact same but come with parker bulbs, autobarn, etc)

just buy H4 bulbs that come with the wiring kit. and the ballast should be the same.

the philips is a rip off, i paid 86.99 at autobarn for H3 (for my foglights) and they are duller than the standard ones that came with the foglights :thumbdwn:
i'm rocking hid's no problems over a year now. Ryan let me know if you need a spare ballast, my first hid set "ebay special hids" died so i have a spare ballast (already gave one away) and a spare H4 bulbs (one works, one has lo beam blown)

I'll give it a go :) cheers, yea no more than 3 months I give for any China made kit, from what Ive seen and read only the Japs have the superior ballasts :( Im impressed as hell personally with the calibre h4 bulbs, very good white tone with exceptional range :)

No it will not work
You need a relay kit to change from High beam to low beam.

the ballast you have now will not be able to change high low beams.

um i think its best to buy a whole new H4 Hi/Lo HID kit.

i think the H4 has a special ballast that has the integrated relay kit.
as in i don't think buying just H4 HID bulbs will work on the H1 ballast.

theres no such thing as a H1 ballast or a h4 ballast. Ballast are universal its the glove that need to be changed only.
