what do u guys reckon about a fake dc5 front kit on a 94 dc2?

ive seen some kits around that make a dc2 (1994 gsi) look like a dc5
they sell the body kit for the front but u have to buy the headlights separately

what do you guys reckon
im looking for a car atm and i like the 1994 gsi for about 10k but i want a dc5 look if you know what i mean

tell carmate to get stuffed. They are overpriced, their parts are not warrantied, and nothing is guaranteed.

You may buy these parts, but than the gaps and lines may not match 100%, leaving ur car lookin like sh*t.

They couldnt even guarantee an aftermarket bonnet on my car will fit proprely, in other words if i buy it they wnt give me money back if its not the right fit.

Personally i reckon get a nice kit, maybe even custom for ur dc2 and there u go, a fukn hot teg. :) ;)

carmate.com.au used a pic of my car (dc5) and claimed it to be some guy in the USA that has done the conversion to his DC2 into a DC5 front...
since then, they took that pic down...

looks like a fair bit of work. and knowing carmate, it wont all fit together like a jigsaw puzzle. in the end you'll just be wasting your money, on something that doesnt look that great.. they will probably end up giving you just the DC5 panels, and somehow you will have to find a way to mount it all to DC2 mounting positions. the headlights would be a pain in the ass to fit, especially with aftermarket bodykits.

the DC5 front end doesnt suit the dc2 body lines IMO.. it's too fat.

yeh that pic. from carmate of the dc2 conversion to dc5 looks like a straight photo of a dc5 to me. I reckon spend the cash doing other mods rather than wasting it on a front end conversion. But then again if your into looks rather than go.. then i guess give it a go... nothing to looooose except some $$..

Hondalover, dnt listen to any crap any one says 2 ya on forums, if u wana go ahead with the conversion... than mad... i wana see pics of ur final product. However keep in mind that Carmate is fukn crap, the gaps wnt line up 4 ya, lol i can guaranee u that :) and i havnt even see their work on the conversion.

My personal opinion dont put ur money on the DC5 kit, in fact dnt even buy a kit from carmate at all, u wil get fuked in some way or another trust me man.

I can give u numbers of some really good workshops where u can get ur car done all nice shmik :) Thats where i got all my stuff from.

With 4 or 5 grand wont get ya much performance done 2 ur engine, i would rather go looks with that money. A proper exhaust alone will set ya bak over a grand easy on its own.

If I got a DC2, for sure I won't change a DC5 front to my car.

1. That's waste money to buy that DC5 front and you still have to pay for fitting and paint as well.
2. If After you installed the DC5 front into the DC2. Maybe people will think your car is just a DC5 try hard.

So why not just keep the DC2 look and spend those DC5 Front's money to buy a set Mugen or TE37, buddy club light wheels.. that can make the car faster and look cool as well. Also I don't think it is look good to put a DC5 Front in to the DC2 or Civic. It is just waste moeny to make the front of your car look like DC5 and make the whole car look weird. So why not just save more to buy a DC5 then.
And I think DC2 is look Good. Dont waste money to change that style.
If you really want to change the front you can go think about sugapopcandy's suggestion. change JDM DC2R front end conversion. That's can make the DC2 look more cool.

That's just my opinion.
