ok ... so me and a mate have been having a argument 2night over the legality of removing the back seat in a 2 door car
for example the DC2 integra or EK hatch ...
is it illegal to drive the car without the back seat?
also whats the legality with C pillar braces, B-C pillar braces and X braces?
he says he couldnt get his Torana XU1 GTR over the pits with a half roll cage and no back seat ... but he could if he put the seat in ... but than the half cage would not fit
any insight could help end this debat once and for all lol

i read from some1 else on here.
some1 sed that it depends on the cops wen they pull u over.
but regarding pits, not too sure. i didnt see any law or watsoeva.
only rule that i possibly know of is that if ur car is registered as a 4 seater, u gotta have 4 seats somewhere. so if u re-register ur car as a 2 seat.. it could work......
not too sure buddy
just signing up for this thread cos i plan to do this.

i work with the guys over the pits at silverwater and epa chullora, if your cars registered as a 5 seater you have to have 5 seats and belts, as for having roll cages and that, you need to get them engineered, and also register your car as a 2 seater or 1 seater or whatever, most cops will usually get you for it,

it probably has to be covered with pieces of foam. its a given for A and B pillars but for the back? unsure TBH.

Pretty sure c pillars are illegal as it is a danger to the rear passengers (and possibly obscures rear vision?) My mate has a c pillar bar that is apparently legal though because it does not pass through where the rear passengers heads are.

c-pillar on an EK is pretty bad situated, on an EP3 is good cos its far away from the rear seat.
B to C pillar bar I believe will be illegal here, cos they are situated just next to the rear passengers' heads lol
you have to remove all rear seatbelts as well otherwise its defectable

in SA you have to register it as a 2 seater, a new modification compliance plate is stuck in the engine bay and all the seat belts in the back need to be removed

nsw, you just have a piece off paper, and keep in your car as always.
