View Full Version : Engineering Certificate.
hey guys, just would like to know if this is true or not. I could lower my car to literally 4cm above the ground and have it engineered and cops cant defect me. is that right?
basically i want to have my car really low without getting defected, and a mate told me that its possible with an engineering cert. And no i do not want to get Air Suspension.
Thanks

i dont think you can get ride height engineered.
when i got my car engineered, they didnt check the ride height.
It was the guy who does blue slip who checks it and if its not 10cms above the ground then you dont pass.

I agree with the above. I can't quote anything, but there is surely some rules which simply cannot be broken regardless of whether an engineer deems them safe or not. Ride height is likely one such that the RTA can be sure you will clear uneven roads, speed bumps, etc...

if you want your car sacked and like your front bumper(oh and the whole rta thing) then the only way is airbags (yes i read what you said)

It must fit a can of coke all the way throughout the bottom of the car. If it doesn't, they wont engineer the car.

Even if you do get it engineered, highway patrol will still get you.

Still doesn't stop them from defecting you, engineers' certificates only make clearing defects easier, does not prevent you from getting defects.
Cops on power trips will still defect you even if your car is 100% fully engineered.

Yeah it will clear on vehicle inspection but my point is every highway patrol will still defect you ...and probably get you even more for your other mods.
Personally i dont think its worth the trouble just to have your car 4cm off the ground. You might as well invest on airbags.
Highway patrol here run the 10cm measurement wheel thing beneath your car, if it hits anything, your ****ed. (or sometimes use a ruler, coke can or just make up some crap)

always the 10cm rule.
what happens if you get defected all the time? like more than 3 or 4 times for the same thing *eg ride height. can the cops take your license away? suspend you? or what happens?

I don't think anything can happen unless these defects include demerit points which certain defects have. It will just be noted next to your vehicle and registration plates that "This vehicle is known for defects". So that next time any officer that runs a check against your plates it will have that notice and all your previous offenses, so they might just pull you over while doing a random registration check.

yea that rolling ball of the cops will hit everything under 100mm, so best have it 100mm+ :)
