usually when this happens it's either a gas leakage in piping or you need regasing. you can take it to a auto aircon speciallist regas cost no more than 100 ! hope it helps

If your ac is out of refrigerant gas then it means there is a leak.
Dont get ripped of by dodgey operators that just regas without locating the leak.
Make sure they repair the leak before attempting to regas.
An air con never needs a regas unless it has a leak or has been pulled apart.

are you sure it's just a leak what if it just needs the good ol' regas,?
these days a 100$ regas hardly exist, why waste your time and money invest in another 20 odd bucks, to get a air con serviced and regassed, exclusion of repairs to the leaks pipes, condensor and so forth,,,
there's no point of just doing a regas as egjoe said, no point if you re gas it and it still leaks, the mechanics will actually remove the old gas out, and use the uv light to check for leaks in the air conditioning system
