When applying for Third Party Property insurance and there's a "Has your car been modded box" do you tick it?
I know my cars been lowered by the previous owner and I have after market pedals and an aftermarket exhaust...
Do I tick the box?

when i bought my car, it was stock.
once i had done anything, whether it was alarm, exhaust, headers, stereo, anything that wasnt stock at all, id notify them.
its better that way
it may or may not alter your premium, but its better safe then sorry i recon!
in most cases, depending on your insurance provider, it will alter ur premium.
depending on age etc.

Even for third party property insurance?
i didnt think you were talking about third party.
um... that im not too sure about ay.
your best bet might just be to make a general enquiry to your insurance provider if no one else can help.
i just assumed it was for comprehensive.

Insurance has just sky rocketed this year....
I paid about $400 for 3rd party last year, this year it's $590...
Comprehensive is just a joke with most places quoting $4000+ Bloody VTi-R Prelude....

Mine's 1200 with like.. 60% discount :( No mods. Bone stock...
I can only begin to imagine the premium rise if theres mods.

your insurance will be void
if you disclose false information
so yes they will rape you when you make a claim and what you told them was incorrect
thats if they find out lol

my mate had an accident, he had coilovers, and a few other suspension and handling mods, like 90lan said, it voided the warranty when they inspected the vehicle, because they wern't notified about the modifications, and it "MAY" of caused the accident,
just car insurance, 650 fire and theft, also includes third party, and modified vehicles, better of just going with just cars or someone who insures modified cars, nrma will void your warranty as soon as you say the word modified

You hav to let them know, doesnt matter how well u drive, its the other drivers on the road that you've gotta worry about. If u dont tick the box, then u won't be covered , god forbid something bad happens. But consider comprehensive insurance or u might regret it if ur car is totalled or badly damaged. Some companies offer pay by the month premiums.
