If its going into an EK1, no you can only use Y4 dizzy cause it has extra sensors, wires..

pretty sure the OBD1 D15b7 dizzy has the same internal parts and sensors as the d16y4 one. Just slightly different loom attached to it.

I recon you can use a D16Y1 dizzy

you have to use a SOHC VTEC dizzy, D15B wont fit.

OP - it all depends what the motor is being used with ecu wise. The Y4 dizzy has extra sensors & OBD1 dizzy are different. thats why you have to change dizzies in an EK1 (Y4 equipped) if you want to run an OBD1 ecu...

ECU-man - would he get a CEL if he used a Y1 dizzy with stock Y4 ecu?

I guess it all comes down to what ECU he is going to use and what car it goes in. If he wants to run the D16Y4 ECU he has to use the Y4 dizzy

you cant run the Y4 Dizzy with an OBDI ecu
