parking always has it's disadvantages. I ALWAYS park on the street, NEVER in car parks, but it doesn't always help

It was my FD1 Civic, in excess of $10K damage, but the car was never the same. It was pushed backwards approx 5ft while in park. Auto trans started playing up within a few months, so traded it on a CU2. The case is still ongoing.

just to give you guys an idea of the force of the impact, i was sitting on the left front guard at the time & finished on the ground next to the left front wheel of the car behind. you can see in these 2 pictures. What you don't see is the Hayman Reese Tow Hitch burried in the front of the Civic.

I can't comment on that as i had been removed from the area before the cars were separated. But it would be doubtful, those Hayman Reese Tow Hitches are quite large in comparison to a standard tow bar.

Commodores crash a lot. Holden prob realised this and started making them even more solid :p

to see skippy & his friends at night.....they were good for better than 500 meters of light on a straight road........will put them on my CU2 when i can get someone to fabricate a decent nudge bar.

yes, we know who the culprit was. What the pictures fail to show is the tow bar going through to the engine block, so it was more than superficial damage.

The hard part is injuries suffered by innocent people, I underwent spinal surgery as a result of the accident last may with more major surgery to follow.

To the best of my very limited knowledge a commodore is NOT a 4WD, please correct me if I am wrong

4Wd have there place on the road like any other vehicle, but I think their use in suburbia has to be controlled by some means. I had a landcruiser myself at 1 stage, but it was strictly used for pulling a 27' caravan.
Apart from heavy duty towing or use on farms/properties i believe their use should be limited. Besides, with current fuel prices which will only increase, very few will be able to afford to run them.

The title of this thread is a bit amusing to me....believe me when I jump in my Land Rover Discovery II I can see WAY more in ANY direction than in my 09 Euro. Euro (like any modern sedan) is really a misspelling of "blind spot on wheels".

Cheers

yeah... i'd have to say i have way better visibility in my parents Pajero than my euro. especially close front and rear - i cant see the front of the bonnet, nor back of the boot from where i sit in the euro, but have a clear view of the front in the pajero (and the back is just about flat from the rear windscreen)

the guy that hit me was in a 100 Series Landcruiser and it was rasied about 3 inches, so he had no chance of seeing me lol.

Yeah, I LOLed too. :p Sounds like they simply didn't look.

My Prado has way better vision than my CU2.
Rear vision is very poor in the CU2, the back window is tiny.
However, I cant really see directly behind me, but it is hard to miss a car. I always pull out slowly where ever I park anyway....
