Hey recently ive gone and finally made the move towards swaping the D16 out and have put a deposit on an b16b which arives in 7 weeks. Its going into my ej8 and was just curious what other peoples thoughts on a coupe will be like? If any one has a b16b in there coupe or hatch id love to hear what thier thoughts on it are!

Um didnt really wanna go past $7000 and from what me and the guy putting it in figured thats about all thats needed to put it in. Its still an option as the guys getting the engine have one of each ariving but yeah have other things to pay for aswell so thats all I really allocated to this. How much more would it be for the B18C? Both cuts are the same price. Mounts and brackets would be needed plus the conversion harness.

umm well b16b will prob have similar torque to b16a. and I just realised I need more after there was 3 passengers in car. Went like shit. So I guess b16a with b18 bottom and internals would save you from a whole b18cr.

Thanks for the imput something to think about i spose. I am well used to driving with the D16 with a car load some weekends that doesnt really bother me at all. As long as its fun with just me and a passanger it doesnt bother me but i dont do the whole flog it on the streets thing seen what a friend did with a K20/K24 ek at speed wasnt pretty! So yeah.

Definitely get a B18C. You'll have more torque so it'll be more responsive under load when the car is full.

b16b: Power: 185 hp (137 kW) @ 8200 rpm & 118 ft·lbf (160 N·m) @ 7500 rpm

b18c: 125 kW @ 7600 rpm & 128 ft·lbf (173 N·m) @ 6200 rpm

Also notice how the b18c reaches peak torque at 6200 raher than 7500 in the b16b
